Agree everything said except:

I've done enough already. Plus loads of great paints by other painters. The world is your lobster, paint wise. ^_^

I will be more specific then.

Carenado aircraft look good but are usually let down significantly when it comes to flight modelling and functionality.

The only Carenado planes that are any good are usually the ones where Bernt Stolle has redone the FDE.

Got the RV-7 yesterday, it's been on my list for a while. Nice! Need to look around for some more repaints though ;)

Is BTS still active, can we expect new releases in the future?

Yes, also one of my favorites. I occasionally check their user forum, but Daniel Maher, the developer hasn't been on for sometime. So my guess is this is it! But well worth the money.....fun little plane to fly!

The forum is dead... The guy moved x country and I'm not sure what happened.

There was a few things he said he was going to do for the RV (minor fixes or features) but I'm assuming those won't happen.

Still a good almost bug free product!

A note on the autopilot.

The RV's Autopilot is unique, not the typical Bendix King AP found in most GAs.  It can be a little twitchy if you engage it during extreme attitudes.  Be sure to be in stabilized flight before engaging AP.  Your Alt hold is merely setting the VS hold to '0'.  There is no 'nav' or 'loc' hold, however when your nav mode is on GPS, it will follow a GPS course, including the approach path.  For a regular ILS , slow to 110-120mph, use heading hold to track the localizer(for GPS vnav, keep AP on gps track), when glideslope becomes 'alive' press 'alt' again to engage glideslope hold.  Lower 1 notch of flaps, use throttle to maintain 90mph down glideslope until reaching DH.

You don't really need the AP very often since the RV is so fun to fly, but because of it's fighter like agility, the AP comes in handy during long X country and instrument approaches.

Cheers

TJ
