June 18, 201411 yr Okay guys, So i used to use ENB series with FSX to make the night darker, but it got to a stage where i would hate the way it looks in the day. I then only used it when i was doing night flights, but that also got to the stage where when tabbing out and going over to look at my other monitor to view the flight plan and charts ect. FSX would crash, and according to Event Viewer the ENB would cause that. I went back to just the defualt FSX night, and i have no come to a stage where i would like to make FSX Dark again, i have been looking at some posts on the forums about people using sweet FX I wanted to post and ask does it really work? And does any one else have any other suggestions that they use to make FSX dark at night Kind Regards, Jack Dutton
June 18, 201411 yr I gave up on Sweet FX and ENB as they both cause FSX to crash on my system. I do find the nights much darker with DX10 than DX9 though. Using DX10 with Steve's Fixer and never looked back. I also bump the contrast of my monitor with a saved profile when using FSX. I find this improves the look both day and night and of course has no chance of causing a CTD. June 18, 201411 yr I started using Riva Tuner to save multiple color profiles. You could have one for day, one for night. Simple, free, lightweight. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
June 18, 201411 yr Author Hi martin, What was your contrast set too?? And Gregg_seipp : Thank you for you reply i will have a look at Riva Tuner further Okay so messing with the Contrast settings, i had it turned down to 0 and i dont even mind that. It definately fixed the issues at night and at the same time seemed to make them look better! I dont even mind them for the daytime ! How do i save the profile for FSX Kind Regards, Jack Dutton

How do i save the profile for FSX If you're talking about Riva Tuner, I haven't done that. I just manually select the profile I want when I want it. It may be possible, though. June 18, 201411 yr Commercial Member My displays have a button which switches different color temperatures and have different names like 'Night', 'RGB', 'Game Playing'. Nice feature on my Asus 27's that you can rename to your liking. I use a one called 'Theatre' which gives me the "blacks". Then for day flying I switch to either 'Standard' or 'Game Playing'. June 18, 201411 yr What was your contrast set too?? I use a free utility called Gama Panel and set the Gamma to 1.1 and Contrast to 1.2. I find this makes sunny days look 'sunnier' (less washed out) and the added contrast makes nights very dark - you could easily fly into a mountain or the ground if you loose your positional awareness. Keep in mind this is with DX10 which I find has darker nights to begin with.
