Realistic approach view (pic )

Hi,

After being in the aircraft i must say using zoom 1.0 gives you the most realistic view on approach as the runway is eating you up :-)

I have been using zoom 1.0 for yonks Michael, and found it to be the most realistic. I set up my cockpit exactly like Tabs suggested in the intro manual using Opus Cams.  A real pilots perspective.

System: MSFS2024, ASUS Rog Stryx Z790-A,  Intel i9-14900KF,  Asus ROG Ryujin III 360 , Asus Hyperion Case,Rog Stryx 4090 OC, Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD, 1Tb Samsung 860 EVO SSD,64Gb G Skill Memory, Asus Aura 1200W Gold PSU,Win 11 ,LG C4 48" 4K OLED Screen., Airbus TCA Full Kit, Stream Deck XL. WinWing FCU, EFIS, MCDU

beautiful shot. will try a visual approach with the suggested settings next time. That´s beatiful lighting and cloud rendering as well. What are you using for those? Also loved the visual effect of the rwy lights!

1.0 provides a realistic with very minimal distortion..and better sense of depth too..there is also a yohtube video which explains why 1.0 zoom

Michael,what do you use?

Default camera fsx?EZCA camera?Opus camera?

Between the camera FSX and the camera  of EZCA there is a difference in zoom.

How tall are you?

By photos of pilots inside 777 cockpits, I always thought their point of view was lower...

Is it this high? Head seems pretty close to the overhead panel.  :P

I am using DX10 , REX Essential+ and ASN for weather engine and EZCA at 1.0 . Did not know if zoom factor 1.0 was different from inside FSX.

Regarding the height i use my shoulders height vs MCP as reference

I also just checked the manual, seems I was sitting a little low.

I use my eye point to the top of the headrest. Then spin around.

IT does feel very very high, but that might be because I am used to sitting lower.

In the NGX it's very different, you sit low

In what way? All Ezdok does is move the camera position. The view and zoom effects aren't changed.

Without wideviewaspect=true in fsx.cfg (which you must manually change, there is no other way to do so), 1.0 zoom still wouldn't be realistic. Is your wideviewaspect=true set?
