Oh OOM no !

FSDT CYVR plus 300er plus taxi cam = OOM. Just tuned on the cam and bang. It's gimmicky and if you pay attention you really don't need it.

It does what they said it would do, its a big performance hit.  Took 15 FPS off as soon as i clicked the cam button, as soon as i clicked it off the FPS went back to normal.  Going to leave that one alone i think.

Performance hit I can live with but the OOM's are a problem.  I agree, its not something that I will use very much although it is useful to use when testing to calibrate the spot on the VC where the front gear is lined up with the taxi line.

Ryan did say that it was heavy on FPS, not surprising that it has a VAS hit too, i imagine that it's basically a new screen confined to a window.  The 777 for me sails pretty close to the VAS line anyway, can't see me using that.

I experienced a similar increase in the VAS with the -300ER and I believe it is related to the taxi cams.  Is there a way to disable them in the FMC menus?

It's actually 4 screens it's made up of. I tried to move it and you have all three camera's and the frame in separate elements, no wonder it hits the frames. I won't be using it but I have hit the button a few times by accident.

Wish PMDG made a way of disabling it all together.

What a waste of talent. Will try to turn off all cameras except one for lining up with Jetway.

I also hope for that!

I am staying well away from the taxi cams. as long as you pay attention to where your aircraft is, and if you have a rough guess on the position of your nose wheel and rear wheels you'll be just fine.

The VAS thing in FSX is so random. I did a flight yesterday from DBX to EDDF, and used the cams at both dep and arr, and although I got a FPS hit, I still had 900MB of free VAS at EDDF.

Getting far better VAS usage with SP1
