July 19, 201411 yr FSDT CYVR plus 300er plus taxi cam = OOM. Just tuned on the cam and bang. It's gimmicky and if you pay attention you really don't need it. Mark CYYZ
July 19, 201411 yr It does what they said it would do, its a big performance hit. Took 15 FPS off as soon as i clicked the cam button, as soon as i clicked it off the FPS went back to normal. Going to leave that one alone i think. Jason Dilley
July 19, 201411 yr Author Performance hit I can live with but the OOM's are a problem. I agree, its not something that I will use very much although it is useful to use when testing to calibrate the spot on the VC where the front gear is lined up with the taxi line. Mark CYYZ
July 19, 201411 yr Ryan did say that it was heavy on FPS, not surprising that it has a VAS hit too, i imagine that it's basically a new screen confined to a window. The 777 for me sails pretty close to the VAS line anyway, can't see me using that. Ian R Tyldesley
July 20, 201411 yr I experienced a similar increase in the VAS with the -300ER and I believe it is related to the taxi cams. Is there a way to disable them in the FMC menus? Thanks, ~Shaun O'Neil ~Shaun O'Neil~
July 20, 201411 yr It's actually 4 screens it's made up of. I tried to move it and you have all three camera's and the frame in separate elements, no wonder it hits the frames. I won't be using it but I have hit the button a few times by accident. Wish PMDG made a way of disabling it all together.
July 20, 201411 yr What a waste of talent. Will try to turn off all cameras except one for lining up with Jetway. Ric Elmore
July 20, 201411 yr Wish PMDG made a way of disabling it all together. I also hope for that! I am staying well away from the taxi cams. as long as you pay attention to where your aircraft is, and if you have a rough guess on the position of your nose wheel and rear wheels you'll be just fine.
July 20, 201411 yr The VAS thing in FSX is so random. I did a flight yesterday from DBX to EDDF, and used the cams at both dep and arr, and although I got a FPS hit, I still had 900MB of free VAS at EDDF. Getting far better VAS usage with SP1 System: MSFS2024, ASUS Rog Stryx Z790-A, Intel i9-14900KF, Asus ROG Ryujin III 360 , Asus Hyperion Case,Rog Stryx 4090 OC, Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD, 1Tb Samsung 860 EVO SSD,64Gb G Skill Memory, Asus Aura 1200W Gold PSU,Win 11 ,LG C4 48" 4K OLED Screen., Airbus TCA Full Kit, Stream Deck XL.
