July 30, 201411 yr I am getting back into flight simming this year after some 15 years away and am determined to set myself up right so that frame rates etc do not frustrate me. I want to run PMDG's 737 NGX with some high end texture, weather and scenery add ons. Plus whatever else adds to the experience. The system I am considering is an Intel Core I7 LGA1150 4770K Quad core 5GHz 1TB 8GB RAM with a nVidea Geoforce GTX660Ti video card plus other bits and pieces. Am I on the right track or do I need to push for more power? Thank you

July 30, 201411 yr You are on the right track... but a bit behind the latest technology.. i7 4790K + GTX780 would be the current system to aim for.. Bert
July 30, 201411 yr What matters most is CPU speed so get whatever overclocks to the fastest speed possible.

July 31, 201411 yr Money buys ya frames. Even with 4.8 oc and 780 gtx gpu something will freeze up in fsx. It's old school program and need a intel with fast speed to feed it. Get what you pay for in fsx in 2014 and 2006 getting your CPU to 3.0 and over like wow lol.

I get 30-40 Fps with my system with the pmdg 777 at a payware airport in bad weather ATP MEL,CFI,CFII,MEI. Type Ratings B-737, ERJ-190,ERJ-170
