July 30, 201411 yr Yes. Umm . . . I'm guessing that you want more than just a yes or no here. So what specifically are you asking about the helicopters? The only default helicopter in P3D2 is the Robinson R22, but I'm using a couple of third party add-on helos. ~ Arwen ~ Home Airfield: KHIE
July 30, 201411 yr Hi all, Had anyone tried using Helios with P3D? Thanks Yes, many different helicopters. What do you want to know exactly? Spirit
July 30, 201411 yr *smirk* I think helios is software Well, then No. [That's the trouble with trying to help someone, who isn't clear about what they are asking about.] ~ Arwen ~ Home Airfield: KHIE
July 30, 201411 yr Helios is a display software, privately developed for public use. Is an awesome application. @ the OP - I have Helios, but have not set it up for P3D. I would imagine no different than FSX, and I've used it with the NGX. And the OP was crystal clear...
July 30, 201411 yr Moderator And the OP was crystal clear...Perhaps so, but quite honestly it could well have been a typographical error just as easily! This is obtuse enough that I only found a link on the second page of a google search: http://www.gadrocsworkshop.com/helios/ Fr. I would imagine no different than FSX, and I've used it with the NGX. And the OP was crystal clear... Well, it obviously wasn't "crystal clear" to me. Crystal clear would have been "Helio display software." I have language issues so I don't always notice when a word has something like and extra letter . . . what I saw was "helos". Sorry for trying to help someone else here. ~ Arwen ~ Home Airfield: KHIE
July 30, 201411 yr Perhaps so, but quite honestly it could well have been a typographical error just as easily! Exactly, my first thought was that it was a typo and he meant helicopters.
July 30, 201411 yr Moderator So did I! According to "Google" there are at least 20 other software programs that use the name "Helios" in their product's title... Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
July 30, 201411 yr Author OK. Sorry for not making my original post clearer. I was assuming that Helios was well known enough that the members of this community would know what I meant. My apologies. As has been stated above by others, the Helios I meant is the touch panel software. Has anyone had success using this with P3D? Thanks
July 30, 201411 yr Moderator Here. I'd already posted that exact link in reply #7, but it sure doesn't hurt to have it again... B) Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
July 30, 201411 yr It's actually very cool stuff. I wasn't trying to be a d--k earlier, I just felt like the OP got dumped on for not being super detailed in his post. Sorry about that.
