This topic has been moved from "MS FSX Forum" to "The Bargain Hunter's Shack". This move has been done for a number of possible reasons.

  • The most likely reason is that the post was off topic.
  • The topic could also have contained images or a video that were not appropriate to the original forum it was posted in.
  • The images might not have been "illustrative" or "explanatory" in nature.
  • The topic could have been moved because we deemed it to be more appropriately placed elsewhere.
Please ensure that your posts are "on topic" and contain illustrative images or videos as appropriate. Do not post videos or images just for entertainment purposes anywhere but in the screen shot or video forums. See our image posting rules here.

Members who continue to post off topic posts can be denied entry to specific forums in order to reduce and remove the practice. Your cooperation is appreciated.

REALLY?  Effing thread bot...

This is not a bargain thread ffs!

Please can avsim stop auto moving ANY thread about a new product release?  That's part of why I USED to come to the FSX forum....

Also, the title was originally in caps. It should read "Carenado PA34 Seneca V Series HD FSX/P3D Released". It does look quite odd as it is now. Wonder why that changed as well as the location of the topic.

Thanks,

Kevin L

Yeah, that bot is really weird at times. I remember when it kept moving a thread between two locations.

I'm pretty sure you can change the title if you edit the first post.

Two points:

1. Despite what the robo-text reads, a real honest-to-goodness, fallible human moderator moves threads around. Sometimes we make mistakes. Imagine that! :o

2. There is a problem lately with "auto-capitalization" that Tom will need to fix. Attempting to type "CDI" in the title field for example will be auto-corrected to "Cdi" which frankly is annoying as the dickens!

If you look at the description for the forum, it states as follows:

"This forum is provided for users who run into good deals to post details and share with their fellow community members. Sales, special offers, new offerings, etc., can all be posted here. Commercial members can also post their product special sales, discounted products, etc. Before posting, read the rules pinned to the top of the forum."

Personally I look at this forum regularly to see "what's new", what has been released.  I do not know why these new releases are being posted in just the FSX forum.  Is it so that advertisers can somehow get their product advertised here at AVSIM in a frequently visited forum?

In any case we are looking at updating the forum's description and purpose and maybe some of your suggestions will be implemented.  Unfortunately, with any large website with over 178,000 members, it is hard to please everyone but we try.

Jim, the title of the forum says it all.. this is for "good deals"..

Not new releases of current offerings..

I'd vote to put it back into the FSX forum where we have been discussing new releases for years.. ^_^

Well, the name of this forum is 'Bargain Hunter's Shack'. That implies that one can find all kind of deals and offers in here to save a few bucks. And that's exactly how the users use this forum. Also new releases have always been discussed in the FSX forum. Alternatively one could create a forum with the name 'New Releases' but moving these threads to the 'Bargain Hunter's Shack' is just confusing and misleading for the majority of users.

What's not a "good deal" to one person, may be a "good deal" to another.  I, for one, WANT to be advised that a new product is out.  It's up to me to decide if I want to explore  the offering  It's up to me to decide if its a so-called "good deal".   A Forum should be want it is intended to be:  INFORMATIVE to its members.

That is my $02 worth!
