Yeah, I can see what you mean now. I can't say I've ever seen it but I do see an occasional autogen spike that sorta flashes in your peripheral like that. What size cloud texture did you put in (cumulus01.bmp)? I use the 512px one, the default is 256px and IMHO the 1024px one is overkill. Also what CompressionQuality did you resample the photoreal at? I've seen some flickering and blurriness if I try to go too high, I think 90-93 is about as high as a person should go. Do you have terrain cast shadows turned on? There are a lot of people complaining about that setting and LM admitted they have a glitch with it.

 

Now I'm curious what you're using to capture and edit your videos. I spent most of the afternoon playing with Shadowplay and I finally got a video out of it which plays in Windows Media Player but I can't get the sonofa###### into Adobe Premier to do any editing on it! It's an .mp4 and I guess my old version of Premier won't read it. Jeezus, 7 minutes of video was well over a gigabyte, with my half assed internet connection it'd take me 3 1/2 months to upload it somewhere, lol. Very nice video though, I can hardly tell it's capturing anything, doesn't seem to affect the frame rates hardly at all.

that's interesting but I see the 128 resolution shadow is better then the 256. Can it be that 128 will be interpreted as 512? Thanks for the shots.

PS: Tried the 128 setting and it seems to be very nice to my GPU and FPS in total. Gaining 2 FPS - not so bad.

Oh, and Jim, I responded twice on your 3 AM post re the black flashes offering...emailed ...rather than responding to the board...messed up, and had to apologise to all the administrators ...annnnnnnyhoo...

 

Found out so far that the black flashes have to do with lighting not clouds...deselected all but cockpit reflections...and most, NOT ALL the black flashes disappeared... Dammit! I really liked what the vegetation shadows were doing for the eye candy affect, and now with this included video of clouds going wonky, I'm wondering if I shouldn't check myself into a clinic…

So where do you find Movie Maker in Win7? I've been all through (the completely useless and unintuitive) "Media Center" but couldn't find a way to do anything besides "add media to the library" which is nice but I sorta have my own library system which involves files & folders, lol.

 

 

@Newtie: PC, Win7 Pro 64 and I'm trying to get these into Premier Pro (it says v7.0 in the "about" screen, CS2 is the generation). I found a free .mp4 converter but aborted the installation when it offered me "free desktop storm alerts", lol. Searched around a bit and found a suggestion to rename the .mp4 to .mov and a few other formats but none of that worked either. I'm perplexed :smile:

Try this and use the iPod or iPhone conversion selection under 'Devices'.

 

I don't know what you're using as a capture tool, but there should be capture/export selections somewhere. If there isn't, remember your capture tool is compressing it once, and Handbrake is compressing it again so quality will suffer. 

 

Screen size will also affect file size. I wouldn't go any higher than 1024 x 768 or file size becomes ridiculous. 

 

If all fails, buy a copy of Camtasia. I've used this for years. I've also watched commercial free TV for years using Camtasia and DivX Author to remove the commercials. Took me five minutes to remove them from the SOA premiere episode. Paid for itself 10x over.

Yep hideous isn't it!... this, the water and the almost total lack of colour at sunset (clouds are grey blobs, with little lighting, even with the reverted shader) are major bummers for me.

Does this work too? I thought 512 is the lowest.
