Every flight is hazzy?

Featured Replies

I really don't know where to go for help, so here I am.

Every flight I take, England, Europe, West Coast US, East coast US, night or day!  There will be a light foggy looking haziness to the scenery at any altitude; clear or cloudy.

I have had issues with this for a long time and have never really overcome it.  I took a few months break to clear my head but it still seems to be foggy (my head also).

I run Win8.1; FSX Gold SP2wAcc, Rex4 Textures, ASN, fsuipc, EZdok, Spad, some UTX, All the FTX Global stuff and Steve's DX10 fixer; [email protected]; EVGA-GTX780Ti-sc and 16GB ram.  To the best of my knowledge all programs have the latest fixes and patches.

Can someone point me in a direction short of reformat...... etc.

Thanks

Rick S.

To make sure you really have a problem with your FSX texture set, I assume you loaded from REX 4,  start a new flight during the day and when in the air go to your main FSX weather menu and choose clear sky then see if you still have the foggy condition.  That will at least let you know how deep things are messed up.  If the sky is clear then it means that the textures you installed in Rex 4 are giving you this condition.  Go into Rex4 and select a new weather set, load into FSX and then see if it makes any difference.  This is what I would try for a start to narrow it down a bit.  fisheye

Its the default haze layer in FSX. Not sure what you need to edit to turn it off but if you own Active Sky Next there is an option in there that will disable it for you in visibility options.

Add this line under the graphics section in your fsx.cfg...

TableFog=0 //added

and see what happens...worked for me..

Hmm, can't say I noticed this. Are you talking about near the sky horizon or like at the end of the runway at takeoff looks hazy?

Slayer, option was already ticked.

BMG50, I added the line to the [Weather] section?; may have helped a little?

Bumpy, Most everything looks fair, but not exactly crystal clear sharp and brilliant, at takeoff but then as I climb the terrain beneath and off into the distance seems to get a washed look like you are looking thru a dirty glass?  Like a fine haze that progressively distorts all detail out at a long distance.  Not the windshield, from any view.

Screenshot would be useful. It could be about visibility options in sim and ASN for example

There are visibility sliders in ASN that can be adjusted.

Cool..I fly into Barwick (9A5) from time to time...There is also a little restaurant there we like to eat at...I fly out of an airport about 40 miles from Lafayette..

Also to test might try turning off all anti-aliasing; wrong forms of it make things blurry.

Thanks guys, back to normal.

I am not sure which had the biggest effect but the combination of the TableFog, adjusting the ASN sliders and changing REX4 Texture Direct themes brought the colors back to life and haziness go away.

Thanks again

Rick S.

Which restaurant BMG, I'll buy you a cup of coffee next time you are in town.
