November 14, 201411 yr Author Finally I found the time for the next flight - planned duration was around 4h, but ... wait and see. Starting in Tel Aviv. The landscape isn't very varied here ... The Dead Sea and Jericho "Behind" the wheels - Amman, the capital of Jordan The border between Jordan and Saudi-Arabia - not very spectacular ... A "lost" street in the desert - it connects Turaif and Arar (Saudi-Arabia). Al Uwayqilah (the greenish spot) - an hicktown in the middle of nowhere in the desert Some boredom arises, not much to see here Still the same road as 3 pictures above, but the leg from Arar to ... ... Rafha (not to be mixed up with Rafah in Israel) The border Iraq/Saudi Arabia - equal exciting to the one from Jordan to Saudi Arabia Again a border - from Iraq to Kuwait - great Some signs of a (bigger) civilization - Al Jahra, northwest of Kuwait city Kuwait city Almost over ... this long flight Finally, after 5:20h - aircraft parked and time to relax. Why? The route was hand flown and not very thrilling for a long time (deserts simply look boring). December 4, 201411 yr Author Ok guys ... this is the next leg. Starting in OKBK (Kuwait City) We're leaving Kuwait city behind - heading 89° towards Iran The Iranian island Kharg (and it really is "karg" = German for "meagre") The Iranian coast with the Bay at Bushehr city Many people may think that Iran consists mainly of sand and desert - far from it! These mountains are around 3,000 m (me flying at 12,000 ft) The Bakhtegan lake - which can be desiccated at times. The mountains behind are around 2,800 m high Again high mountains (3,000 m) standing in my way, but not high enough to not overfly them ... ... as can be seen here -_- The road from Sirdjan to Kerman (2 of my waypoints). In reality it looks like this. The plateau south of Kerman - 2,500 m high The Hezar mountain. The visible peaks are around 3,000 m high, the ones more in the south even up to 4,500 m. A mountain chain along the street from Karman to Bam - up to 2,800 m. Reality check ... And again mountains ("low" mountains ) - "only" 2,000 m high. I knew beforehand that Iran is somewhat mountainous, but this much ... You learn a lot with such a world tour ... The hills near the city of Zahedan, from here on turning to left (heading 18°) for the final leg to Zabol (still Iran, but only about 30 km from Afghanistan) Descent towards Zabol Airport of Zabol End of a flight after 4:38 h, 1500 km and 673 kg of burned fuel My sceneries (excerpt): LPMA Madeira (XPFR), LGSR Santorini, LRBV Brasov, the city of Fürth (Germany), several libraries, ...
