September 10, 201411 yr OK, so I know it's new - as in released yesterday new. Has anyone taken the plunge though? Reviews/previews are sparse (I know ADX have run a 90 min review on Twitch, but I gave up after 10 mins - the stuttering and buffering made it unwatchable beyond that). It looks nice, and I've really fallen for GA flying since the Realair Duke - I like the look of this bird, with the high wing configuration would be a nice change But, it's Wilco, and past experience hasn't been stellar with their planes' (IMO at any rate). That said, I'm not looking for the RA quality (although that would be nice); I have the Twotter & Milviz' C310 currently, so is it at least on par with them? Lack of preview videos leaves me a bit wary, and there's no forum that I can find. If you've got it, what are your initial thoughts? Is it worth the asking price, how does it compare to the other GA planes in your hangar? Thanks everyone, Leo Louise London, UK
September 10, 201411 yr I bought it yesterday. It's very nice on the outside. The VC is OK, but not in the same league as Real Air. At only A$23 it's a steal.

September 10, 201411 yr I have the Twotter & Milviz' C310 currently, so is it at least on par with them? No....... Definitely not! Wilco are the bottom of the barrel I'm afraid, compared to Milviz and Aerosoft. Put it this way ..... it's better than Abacus and Perfect Flight aircraft...
September 10, 201411 yr Commercial Member I watched a good portion of the twitch review; the reviewer gave an overall positive impression of the aircraft. The only major thing pointed out was that the glass is too clear. I've decided that I'm going to pick this one up, it looks to be worth the fairly inexpensive cost, since it's an odd type that's definitely a bit different than the usual. I don't have any past history with Wilco products and therefore I don't hold any previous prejudices against them; that said, I am aware of the opinion that many hold. This release seems to be a simple enough aircraft though that I don't see much risk involved. The textures, while it was mentioned on the twitch review that they aren't perfect, seem quite good from what I could tell - the reviewer had a TrackIR unit and was leaning in pretty close to look at them. For the price, I wouldn't expect it to be on par with any A2A, Milviz, or RealAir offerings, or the Aerosoft Twin Otter for that matter. Those are pretty top tier aircraft and it's pretty clear that this isn't quite in that league. Jim Stewart Milviz Person.
September 10, 201411 yr I don't have any past history with Wilco products Ahhh, I'm sure those of us once or twice bitten, can remember that feeling of innocence! Actually, compared to the dreaded Wilco CRJ Next Gen, and the 10 FPS Wilco TBM, this product probably isn't nearly so bad (and a lot less expensive). I watched D'Andre's Twitch too, and noted the complete lack of glass texturing. But I also saw a very 3rd grade set of VC texturing, lack of ambience in terms of no sounds to the switchgear etc, and well, all I kept thinking was "when and why would I ever choose to fly this model, over some of the amazing quality addons we have?". Answer: Never.

Hmmm, I thought I heard switch sounds on that Twitch feed? Perhaps I was wrong. As for the VC textures, as far as it could be judged from the feed, I thought it looked livable. But regardless, I just think it's a neat model. Each to their own though! Jim Stewart Milviz Person.
September 11, 201411 yr Can anyone who has this put up maybe a video or some pictures? I too am finding issues getting any media to look at about this and missed this review or twitch that people are talking about. To be honest and I feel a bit silly, but I don't even know what a twitch is.... William Sequeira

September 11, 201411 yr It's on par for the price point ... actually I'd say a little above par for the price point. Some of the good: 1. Exterior model is very nice 2. Seems to fly well (never flown one in real life but I like how it feels, no too twitchy) 3. Very good on system performance 4. Aircraft lights illuminate the ground 5. Reacts to weather/turbulence well Some of the not so good: 1. Engine sounds 2. Can't see the print on the switches at night (too bright/bloomed) 3. Night VC lighting is very basic Shift + 1 will bring up a control panel so you can turn on glass VC, Avionics, and a few other features. I'm uploading a video now, will post link when it's done. Overall, it was worth the price. Cheers, Rob.
September 11, 201411 yr Hey Rob Nice vid. Have you worked out a way to turn up the instrument and panel lights yet? I have turned the dimmer switches all the way to the right and nothing happens. The panel is too dark for me. John
September 11, 201411 yr Author Guys, thanks heaps for the help - I think I'll take the plunge - what I'm sensing is that for the money, this is pretty OK... I'll let you know how I get on Louise London, UK
