September 10, 201411 yr Pilots that fly in the "Bush" are a unique bunch. We are those!!! At Bush Planet..Pilots-- we fly in the Himalayas, Andes, and most dangerous mountain countries. We fly in the Amazon, Mayan Jungle of Guatemala and lately we went to Papua New Guinea. If you lie this kind of flying adventure, Missions and would like to check our "New type of Expediitons" then take a look and join us: http://bppilots.iwopop.com/
September 10, 201411 yr Bush flying is, slowly, becoming more interesting to me...at least smaller airport flying is. The thing I have found frustrating is finding good bush planes...the kind that might deliver supplies out in the bush. I'd think the C208 would be the go-to plane but I found Carenado's version less than inspiring. Aerosoft's DHC6 seems like a fit. Any other quality aircraft? The DHC6 can get out on 1200 ft so shorter runways under ideal conditions. How long is the typical runway where you guys fly? Gregg EDIT: The other thing that I always wonder about with bush flying is wind. When you're flying around mountains the wind can get squirrelly...that's what I've heard. Not sure how realistic any wx program currently does on that. I wonder if ASN might be able to do something with that. Would certainly make it a cool thing. September 11, 201411 yr Can I join you with Prepar3D? Do you fly in some multiplayer, or TeamSpeak? How does it look like? EDIT: The other thing that I always wonder about with bush flying is wind. But I guess this could be quite a performance hit. Lukasz Kulasek i7-8700k, RTX 2080 TI, 32 GB RAM, ASUS TUF Z370-PRO Gaming, Oculus Rift CV1
September 11, 201411 yr This is my dream to include influence of local landscape for winds and turbulence predictions. But I guess this could be quite a performance hit. I'm not sure that it would be. The questions are more along the lines of "is FSX weather control granular enough so that someone can reasonably mimic how the winds might be" and, if so, "has ASN they done that." I don't know the answer to those questions at all. I've never flown near the mountains RW and I'd think someone would need that kind of experience to even come close to getting it right. Near the tops of the mountains, with winds, I'd expect downdrafts and updrafts...not straight up and down. Lower down, I'd imagine the wind being squirrelly, sweeping through valleys. Pure conjecture. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090

September 11, 201411 yr Also check out CumulusX.http://www.luerkens....nline.de/peter/ Interesting. Don't know anything about that. I'd assume that does a better job, in this limited context, than ASN? Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. I would recommend the Aerosoft Beaver - wheels, skis, floats or tundra tyres, it will get you in & out of just about anywhere.
