September 14, 201411 yr Ok...I tried my first flight ever on the South American continent, specifically the country of Venezuela at SVCJ.  I tried five times...and each time, P3D v2.3 would start loading the scenery...and when it got to texture, it loaded out to only 37 percent, each and every time...and P3D just froze...no going past 37 percent to load the flight. I tried other airports in Ven, and all were the same, P3D would go to a 37 percent load...and die.  So...is this a P3D v2.3 South America bug, or is it ORBX Global...I don't know.  Just after posting here, I'm going to reinstall  Global 1.20, and see if that is the problem.  Could anybody try to load up the airport: SVCJ San Carlos, and tell me if you had a successful load-in of texture and scenery, and placement at the airport.  I have never tried to load any airport since getting P3D in South America...so I don't know if this is caused by P3D itself, or as a result of an add-on...  Thanks,  Mitch
September 14, 201411 yr I took off from SVCJ without problem. It's just a simple airport surrounded by forest. I have Global and Vector.  Hope this helps  Denis

Â
September 14, 201411 yr Author Well...I have a crapped out South America...any country in S.A....and P3D dies...hangs up...CTD's.... Â No other continent causes this.... Â ORBX Global was reinstalled.... Â Vector should not be affecting this.... Â I have no idea, why my copy of P3D v2.3 will not properly render and load anything on the South American continent.... Â Bummer...
September 15, 201411 yr Isn't their a repair option available for P3D, maybe you could try that? RE Thomason Jr. Â Â
September 15, 201411 yr Are you sure you haven't deactivated the South America continent in your scenery library? Even so, I would think that the sim would load, yes? Just throwing out a suggestion, that may or may not help.   cheers, Jazz
September 15, 201411 yr Author Isn't their a repair option available for P3D, maybe you could try that? Yes, there is...but...it totally wipes out the Scenery Lib...and you have to basically reinstall everything, that will no longer be detected by P3D.  Thanks for the thought, and if I really want S.America badly enough...I will most likely have to go this route...or a full clean install again......geez...! Are you sure you haven't deactivated the South America continent in your scenery library? Even so, I would think that the sim would load, yes? Just throwing out a suggestion, that may or may not help.   cheers, Jazz Jazz..a very good suggestion...and I will certainly now look at that....but I don't think that I touched that...but......perhaps I did!  Good call...am going to see about that right now in the Scenery Lib!!!!!  Mitch  (and praying that it is as simple as that...and will write it off to a Senior Moment...)
September 15, 201411 yr Author Repair is the only option, I guess...bummer... Â Well...the Repair Feature did nothing for the problem. Â South America is checked on in the Scenery Library, and one noticeable event is that when the flight is loading in the data, it does not have the speed and snap that loading in any other continent does. It crawls up to 37 percent, and goes no further. Â P3D v2.3 just hangs, like it is waiting for some data, and is not getting it, or it can't resolve the data, and build the flight...it is stuck at TERRAIN loading, with a loading bar at exactly 37 percent with each attempt to access. Â I don't see anything wrong with my installation...and so could this be a bug in v2.3? Â Some might see this, some might not?
September 15, 201411 yr   I don't see anything wrong with my installation...and so could this be a bug in v2.3? Some might see this, some might not?  Could be I suppose but I have no issues loading SVCJ and have not had any issues with hangs while scenery is loading.  Hope you get it sorted, good luck! RE Thomason Jr.  Â
September 15, 201411 yr Author Could be I suppose but I have no issues loading SVCJ and have not had any issues with hangs while scenery is loading.  Hope you get it sorted, good luck! Hey Blaze,  Well...I don't know how long I have had this issue with my v2.3 install...for I never yet asked P3D for a flight out of any of the S.A. air-fields.  I did yesterday, and as stated, slow-to-37 %, and that's all she wrote. This morning, I used the REPAIR of the uninstall routine, and it still made no difference whatsoever.  I don't think there is a glitch on my installation. I think this is a bug in v2.3  I remember here, at AVSIM, a post about exactly---a figure of 37 percent and stall from another user..and am going to try and chase that post down to see what that 37 % was being referenced to, as soon as I press this off to you...  I hope I get it sorted out, too!  Thanks!  Mitch
September 15, 201411 yr Could it be a mesh issue?  Like Blaze, I have no issues with loading SVCJ or other SA airports, nor have I ever encountered stall during load. I use FTX Global too (not vector) and stock mesh. - Jens Peter "Penz" Pedersen
September 16, 201411 yr Author I think there is a bug...that comes up if you have the right settings for it to show... Â I have the same settings that is only allowing a 37 percent flight load, in Venezuela (SVCJ San Carlos, yet...I can load a flight in South America, in Peru. Â So, whatever scenery data or section is covering the country of Venezuela, is causing this. Â BTW, I reinstalled v 2.3 entirely, so...a corrupted file is out of the question. Â That some can get to this airport...at the runway, is a mystery to me!!! Â What I am going to do..is try to fly from Peru, to Venezuela....and see if P3D v2.3 CTD, as I enter or approach the country of Venezuela..... Â I'm on a runway in Peru right now...so parts of South America will load to the runway, no problem....Â
