October 21, 201411 yr It's a pretty good guess the next will be a V35, which A2A hope to have out by end of year....barring any setbacks. The V-35 should satisfy the HP single desire, will cruise in the 170kt range, maybe a little faster if A2A includes some Knots2U speed mods. If you want more speed and complexity, there is always the Civil P-51, which is pretty much the fastest piston GA available in FS I think. October 21, 201411 yr Author I started all this because of the odd setting needed on trim for a reasonable takeoff. Thanks to all who really honed in on how the C172 should perform. However, I still had my problem. So I uninstalled the aircraft. Well, after the uninstall it was still there. Obviously something was messed up. I did not want to loose everything and I had what I believed to be the base and the updates so I just changed the names on the files in the Airplanes folder. Reinstalled up through 2.0 testing each step. Actually the base original install solved the rocket like takeoff. I then proceeded through update 2.0. The next was the 9/28/2014 update and there I am told I need to buy the P3D version. I faintly remember this but I assume I bought. Looking at the A2A store it says I didn't. Right now this 2.0 level addon appears to work ok after a takeoff and a circuit to landing. I'll see later if I want to buy a P3D version when this one works "ok" in P3Dv2.4 . regards, Dick near Pittsburgh, USA

November 21, 201411 yr I have over 100 hours in a 172R which I did my private pilot training in. I can attest, at least with my experience, that the A2A 172 is spot on the numbers in all regards. Obviously some feelings will be differently felt in the sim vs the real thing, but believe me, it does perform the way it should. And yes the bottom of the white arc is 33 knots and I can fly the plane there real world and in the sim. (Real world it's easy with no wind haha) I've flown other Cessna models including older 172's and the 177 Cardinal. They all are different. Oh and yes, in the real world 172R that our club has 2 of, you do need some nose down trim after takeoff if you set it on the line.
November 22, 201411 yr Commercial Member And yes the bottom of the white arc is 33 knots and I can fly the plane there real world and in the sim. I should probably note that since my earlier post in this thread, A2A have updated the Accu-Sim engine. One of the enhancements is some nifty code to simulate airspeed indicator error at high angle of attack: Quoted from the A2A forum: "Airspeed indicator AoA errors added which means airspeed will indicate lower speeds when very slow." Since the update, I can maintain control at slower IAS (though still not quite down to 33kias). Cheers, Nick P.S. I'm still curious as to why the bottom of the white arc on the (real) 172R is 33 knots whilst on the 172S the white arc only goes to 40 kts. Nick M - A2A Simulations
