October 22, 201411 yr Manfred Jahn's FSX KC-97L (wip) refueling a B-47. Also, video uploaded testing R-4360 sound set (wip).
October 22, 201411 yr God!! Does that bring back memories. Our refueling was a bit more difficult though: No jets on "F" and "G" models so we needed a slight descent to provide speed for B-47, usually whenever we were transferring 50,000 lbs. or more. Not sure but I think the jets were added about 1964 or 1965. Btw....The KC also has the SAC blue band. It is aft of the wings. Neal Howard
October 23, 201411 yr Fantastic scene that brings back more memories. Once when I was walking home from high school (1962 or so) I looked up and saw this scene from the ground just as the B-47 broke off from fueling. Stunning pics and unforgettable memory. Thanks much Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
