Flight1 released its PC-12

Featured Replies

The only people that seem to be complaining are the ones that want all the eye candy, which eye candy is neat, but meaningless. If you actually knew much about the PC-12 and the Flight 1 PC-12 then you would know it is a great plane. It flies like a dream, and is really fun for bush flying. If you are someone who is just going to sit on the tarmac and look at how pretty the plane is, then yes, you should skip this one, but if you truely enjoy flying, and dont mind all the pretty stuff being left out, then this plane is for you. The panels are really nice, just like every PC-12 I have seen. The PFD and GPS are exceptional, and everything you need to fly the plane is right there, and very straightforward, which makes this plane a joy to fly.

Listen, we all have our favorite features, expectations, desires etc.I am not saying that the PC12 is setting new standards in VC and/or cabin design. What I am saying is that this is one heck of a great title (IMHO) and a lot of fun to explore and to fly.I also happen to think (by my standards) that the VC and cabin look just fine. If they are not the best VC / cabin ever, maybe the great flight model and the innovative avionics are more important to me.BTW... What is a massaged screenshot? This is straight off my screen, reduced in size. Looks a lot better at 1280x1024 BTW. :-)

Good point Ricardo. If users have never used any of the 3 then their bases are different from those that have, as well as those that rarely us a VC. For those that are used to the design quality of the 3 mentioned aircraft, it's kinda hard to accept anything less, at least for me it is.Kinda like the new Flightscenery RI, it is so detailed and has such great performance, I can't stand to fly anywhere else as it's such a let down visually.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International

I have pretty much every major add on the FS world has to offer. Lets see, the ATR, 767, 737NG all of them, RI scenery, PMDG 1900D, 1900C, and the list goes on. Just because the PC-12 does not have as many bells and whistles as some of them does not mean this is a bad aircraft. Its fight dynamics are amazing. Of course, if your just going to sit on the tarmac and look at it, that doesnt prove much of a point...

I am Terry Gaff, the creator of the PC-12 external and VC models and all texturing and despite what the well informed.I must say I find it all very amusing really, let me share something first - I work in aviation engineering where I fly very often, most of my hobbies involve aviation, I like to read aviation books and watch the odd aviation programme on TV, when a plane flies over I look up, so why in the world would I concern myself about a gold plated ashtray?? or the fact that an armrest flips up and down in seat 56F ?? I don't give a monkeys elbow and anybody who loves to fly shouldn't either - that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. Anybody who doesn't agree - fine - I respect your opinion, I won't argue with ya.It's been said here before, if you want some fancy ding dong rubbish down the back then go somewhere else, Flight1's own products are not what your after. Just like the folks who bought MS Train Simulator because they like Trains and to drive them, I assume people buy MS Flight Simulator because they like planes and to FLY them. Flight1 caters for those who like to FLY - period. I can however recommend that you guys go to your local carpet store and ask the nice man for some old fabric swatch books. Flight1 is not interested in these fancy trinkets, we specialise in simulating the aircraft and it's systems as true to life as is possible given the timeframe and final cost price and I know that we do a very fine job of it, nobody can say we don't. My own and Flight1's stance on this and how it transposed into the PC-12 product has been well confirmed over the previous few days with many messages of thanks and praise, including (if you think it might matter) several real world PC-12 pilots - when I read what all those folks wrote (and many here on avsim I might add) it confirms to me that we have done a great job.So, to sum it up for all the VC cabin jockeys, here are my (not necessarily Flight1's) recommenations, the next time Flight1 develops a new aircraft simulation (believe me - it's not gonna have a spiffing all mod cons VC cabin with all the silly meaningless trinkets) go somewhere else, go to www.fluffyarmchairandcarpet.com, don't even bother your backend looking at the screenshots and reading the specs, you know what it's not gonna have and you know the developers who love ya, you may also run along to them with your little carpet swatch books, they'll love you for it and so will Flight1 ;-) Good Luck.Terry GaffPS. First of all, I DO NOT own the product, but I have bought other products from Flight1 and I must say "from the screenshots that I've seen here" I've seen better quality freeware......Jason"and before you jump me about how many post I've made on this forum, I've been here for years, but I mostly read and keep to myself"
