November 29, 201411 yr I just bought a New computer and now FSX Freezes every 5- 10 min then resumes and sometimes just restarts. I had a ASUS Lap Top gaming computer and it worked just fine. I decided to buy a faster one (Desk top) so I could enjoy better graphics and speed without stutter while I was flying. I have everything installed on the new one as I did on my older one. I did up the settings in my settings Display in the game. Now when I try to go back to the lower settings it wont save it and returns to what I originally set. Now I get nothing but Freezing every time I try to fly. Here are my specs on my New Computer. I have the UIAutomation.dll in my root directory. I don't get any fatal error messages. It just freezes up.. I have tried everything I know. I'm lost. Can some one please help - Intel Core I5-4460 Processor 4x3.20GHz 6MB L3Cache - Corsair Hydro Series H60 Liquid cooling Sys Standard 120 mm Fan - 8GB [4GBx2] DDR3-2133 G,Skill Ripjaws Memory Module - Nivida Geforce 750 Ti 2 GB - Motherboard ASUS Z79-C - Power Supply 600W Corsair V2 - 1 TB Hard Drive - Sound card ASUS Xonar DGX - 5.1 - Windows 7 Home Premium.. November 29, 201411 yr The uiautomationcore.dll actually causes crashes in some configurations. It only fixes one type of error - menu freezes (i.e., right clicking on fsx several times and/or click on the fsx menu as it takes up a lot of resources). Removal of the uiautomationcore.dll has fixed freezes and fsx crashes on many occasions. It is not the holy grail of fsx crashes. The AVSIM CTD Guide, Version 2, just released can be located to the right of this forum. In the last section, Known/Probable causes of crashes/freezes, there are several recommendations for fixing freezes. The CTD Guide link can be found at the right of this forum under Hot Spots. You'll see a blurb or two in their about that infamous uiautomationcore.dll too as there are two versions and sometimes people throw in the wrong one. I would also look at the section on what to do to prevent crashes too. For instance, anytime you buy a new system, it usually gets out of date pretty fast as manufacturers of Motherboards, CPU's, USB ports, HDD's, SSD's, etc., etc., have updated those products put into brand new systems as they found bugs in the drivers originally issued for the products. Windows Update is not going to fix this for you and, if you know little about computers, you will probably go through a lot of pain and suffering with your "new" system as you don't know how to keep it up-to-date. Meanwhile, the computer experts are having no problems. They go through life without stress as they know how to update their drivers and how to keep their systems in tip-top shape. Even when they are 75 their hair still has not turned gray... and they have a full head of hair. I digress.... Please check out the AVSIM CTD Guide (unless you are a computer expert). November 29, 201411 yr An AppCrashView report will provide me with more information about your crash. I have never seen that error. November 30, 201411 yr Author HI Jim, Thank you so much for your help.. I'm not sure how to use the AppCrashView and what to look for in it, to give you a full report. I have uninstalled everything about FSX. I have reinstalled FSX with no additional add-ons at this time. I did install PMDG 737 and 777 with the updates one at a time. After each install I loaded FSX so it would register each A/C one at a time in the game. I am now flying another mission. If nothing happens I will install one add-on at a time until the situation occurs again.(If it ever does) I do know I did install some add-ons previously without using as Administrator and reinstalled again using Admin.. On my reinstall of FSX I did use Admin on every thing I installed. I will let you know how it turns out. Thanks again for your help V/r Tom Denbrock
December 2, 201411 yr Author Hi Jim, Well I did everything I know of including completely uninstall and reinstall and I still get the Freeze screen about 10 min into the flight. I found the program AppCrashView . Unfortunately I can't seem to cut and Paste on the Forum. How do I send you all the data. It's way to big for me to type it out.
December 2, 201411 yr Find this update in your windows installation, and remove it: KB2670838 In my case this one caused FSX to crash after 5-15 minutes of playing.
December 2, 201411 yr Unfortunately I can't seem to cut and Paste on the Forum. How do I send you all the data. It's way to big for me to type it out. Try this - http://lifehacker.com/5801525/help-new-pc-users-learn-how-to-copy-cut-and-paste. Just put your cursor at the beginning of the error and left click and then pull the cursor all the way down to the end of the document then right click and select copy. Now come here and start a new post and then right click in the post and select paste. Done! Find this update in your windows installation, and remove it: KB2670838 Be aware this KB is required update for IE10 or IE11 (Google). If you uninstall it, your version of Internet Explorer (IE) will be completely removed and IE8, the default, will be enabled. When you reinstall IE10 or IE11, it will be reinstalled. This is why it is called "The Evil Update". Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! I was trying to figure it out and I guess it posted the first time and I didn't realize. Edited December 2, 201411 yr by firehawk44 Removed first duplicate report
December 2, 201411 yr I removed one of the duplicate reports. Glad you were able to get it posted. It's in html format though and have never seen that before. You had a StackHash. There is no known solution that will work for everyone. Here's what it says in the AVSIM CTD Guide:StackHash – See also BEX and NTDLL.dll above. There is no module on your computer system named StackHash so no need to look for it. If the StackHash is shown as the faulting module, it will have four characters next to it like StackHash_0a9e. That represents the memory address of where the fault occurred. Do not try to look for it. You will not find it. There is no known solution (except one) to BEX/StackHash errors other than reinstalling Windows and FSX but some have accidently fixed their problem by lowering fsx/display driver settings, rebuilding the FSX.cfg, changing voltages/overclocking settings in the BIOS, disabling all scenery add-ons in the Scenery Library, and/or shutting down FSX only in Windowed Mode and starting up in Windowed Mode but never in Full Screen. One known solution is disabling MyTrafficX 5.4c in your Scenery Library. An AI schedule might be causing this crash as the schedule may be looking for a flight and it cannot be found. There are also AFCAD’s that come with MTX and some of those may contain objects. If disabling the program in the Scenery Library works, then you should reinstall the product and use the default schedules. Disabling DEP has worked for some but it is not the recommended solution. FSX/P3D will not allow you to disable DEP. It can only be done by a freeware program that you can download from the Internet (search Google). It has not worked for many others. If you have My Traffic X installed, disable it in the Scenery Library and see if this fixes the problem. If it does, you'll have to uninstall it and then reinstall it and do not select any of the developers AI schedules on his website. Just use the default schedule that came with the program. Hope this helps. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
