November 30, 201411 yr Hi to all fellow flight "simmers"... I was wondering today why do we all have this addiction to flight simulation..? I wonder what percentage of the population we are? Our partners have no idea how we feel and love this hobby...we have even produced celebrities of which we are all familiar, but nobody outside our world knows of them...Word Not Allowed, *******, Nick, etc, etc....we even talk in language of fsx.cfg, p3d.cfg, etc.....nobody can understand us... Just a tribute to our great hobby and all our fellow members...we are comprised of many cultures, different backgrounds...but we all share a common denominator.....we love flight!! November 30, 201411 yr Hi Peter, Absolutely brilliant, I'm usually good with words but I can't sum it up better than that. I do at times get bothered by my fixation, some folks think I'm a bit strange however, I can think of worse things. Safe landings Phil Murfin
December 1, 201411 yr It's such a great hobby that no one other than simmers can really relate to it. It's fantastic, and very, very therapeutic. Stan

December 1, 201411 yr The sense of accomplishment when arriving at ones destination after a long haul....(and the satisfaction that ones PC has held out..!) Peter, I've given up on long haul flights. Almost every time that I'm on approach, I suddenly get 'Oh dear, can you spare a minute ?'. She almost invariably knows the right moment to call me, usually at the busiest time prior to landing.... Only joking, but it does occur quite often. Yes, I agree, a very pleasant time-wasting hobby. I can get lost (and frequently do) when flying. I do get reminded, though when it interferes with domestic bliss, when I hear her shout 'WILL YOU TURN THAT THING DOWN'. I then have to reduce the audio down from 'Window rattling mode' or put earphones on. Expensive too... Regards Bill ('Flying' since FS1 in 1986) i7-3770K 4.2GHz, 16GB, GTX 970 4GB, Win 7 64bit, LG 38GL950G, CH Yoke/Pedals, T.16000M, GenX UK, UK2000 EGGP & EGCC, AeroSoft Gibraltar, FSC 9.5, FSL A320X, 737NGX A318/A319/A320/A321, A2A Cherokee/JF Hawk T1/Dino's EF2000, Iris Grob Tutor
December 1, 201411 yr I absolutely love flight sim. It's my own little world. I'm into short hauls on my NGX or a short island hop on my Q or J41. I just got done flying a MDJB-MDPP flight on the J41. It's such a sense of accomplishment when you do that perfect flight. I can't get enough. Reik Namreg
December 1, 201411 yr I then have to reduce the audio down from 'Window rattling mode' or put earphones on. 'Window rattling mode' - I like that! My favourite setting - Paul Elliott http://www.avsim.com/topic/450607-amy-johnson-london-to-australia-attempt/
