September 4, 200520 yr I just bought W&F a couple of weeks ago. I also have Active Camera. There are keyboard conflicts with AC's Traffic padlock keys and the View definition keys, but after reassigning them I have W&F and Active camera running side by side beautifully with all functions of both fully operational. I toggle between AC and W&F using the keypad's / and * keys. It should be noted though, that a number of users, as well as Serge from AC has reported complete incompatibility on their systems, so no gaurantees here, just to say I haven't seen the problems they report on my system. You can see a wing view video I have posted in the screenshot forum which you can view here. It uses rapidshare due to size (20MB) so click on the free icon at the bottom of the screen, wait for the video to be queued up (Usually about 30 sec) Then click on the download link. Another function I like about it is because you can completely detach the view from the aircraft, you can now have a 360x 360 (HorzxVert) degee control tower view of the airport.http://rapidshare.de/files/4214327/744_wingview.avi.html Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
September 4, 200520 yr Hi Ponyboy,Thanks a lot for that link !http://www.milehighproductions.cwhnetworks.com/You sure that's the correct one re 'Fly-By' ?? Couldn't find anything related to it but Boy! these got to be a series of the most enchanting FS videos i've ever seen ! :-eek Excellent choice of music too ! And if that's not enough already, an almost complete video presentation of FS history ! That sure is worth another :-eek ! Did i miss it and have we been made aware of these amazing videos before ? If not it may well be worth it's own HU topic ! ya'll be sure to go and have a look now! Thanks much again Ponyboy!TESEditor rocks!cheers,Jan
September 5, 200520 yr I use FSCamera (freeware, see here: http://www.g-daehling.de/fscamera/index.htm - text in German only, programm is English) for automatic flyby, approach and airport views when in Tower view. It is not running as a module but as an external program. As it only reads/writes coordinates it hardly uses any resources. It does not affect FPS. Together with W&F for external/internal views I think these two apps are a great combo. No key conflicts between the two. I have disabled ActiveCamera at the moment and have not missed it yet...
September 5, 200520 yr best combo is: Active Camera 2004 (great for virtual cockpit features - head latency, padlock - flyby and approach views) + Walk and Follow (great for external view and for aircraft not featuring a built-in wing view).I had a conflict in VC (I disabled dbs.cockpitwalk.dll), like tf51d I toggle between W&F and A2004 using the keypads / and * and everything works good. Anyway this combo costs $15 (AC2004) + $25 (W&F) = $40 worth the money.
September 5, 200520 yr I agree. That's what I have now (AC2004 and DBS W&F). Walk and Follow is superior in a few areas, and vice versa for AC2004. Was just curious if Walk & Follow had the ability to lock onto and follow my aircraft, when in the walk mode. Apparently it doesn't (haven't been able to find a way to do so).Oh well. Both are excellent programs in their own right.Cheers, _________________________________ -Dan Everette CFI, CFII, MEI 7900X OC @ 4.8GHz | ASRock Fatal1ty X299 Professional | 2 x EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 (SLI) | 32GB G.Skill DDR4 2800
September 16, 200520 yr Does any know if WF is compatible with Trackir? Compatibility is the main problem I have with Active Camera. Its not exactly compatible with trackir and vector expansion
December 25, 200520 yr Hi,I'm a new user to Walk & Follow and have some problems - CTDs and also the wing views I defined look very strange when airborne (the inner part of the wing closest to the fusulage is missing??) even though the very same preset view looks good when on the ground. How do I check what version I have and where on IGFLY's site do you find any patches? All I found was a version log describing what have been fixed in the different versions. Thanks in advance,
August 15, 200619 yr Hello,My Walk & Follow shows no correct lightning in all planes. I have the demo 1.03. Support is known as non-existent for pre-customers. Could someone please post me a 1.05 or 1.06 trial? I wrote to Igfly but no reply about this. I would like to buy this tool but only if I can fly at night.ThanksTorsten
August 15, 200619 yr You are a very lucky person.I bought the product, they got my money and never sent me the product (link or serial key - I forgot).I wrote to them in many many occassions and never got an answer .This product from lreading at what I saw in their Forum is full of glitches which make FS9 crash all over the place.I also wrote in their Forum about the fact that I paid, they collected and I got Zilch. To my surprise I was not the only one. There wereother fellows complaining about the same thing. Look at messages 4 or 5 months ago.So be very carefull.Edmundo CardenasCaracas, Venezuelahttp://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
August 15, 200619 yr >I wrote to them in many many occassions and never got an>answer .>This product from lreading at what I saw in their Forum is>full of glitches >which make FS9 crash all over the place.>I have the same experience with this product and the company, I never managed to have it work OK without generating lots of crashes in FS9 and when writing to the support they never came back to me - so I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy this product or anything else from this company for that matter.
August 15, 200619 yr I know I'd miss head latency, and ground turbulance if I disabled Active Camera. I take it Walk and Follow doesn't have Head latency?
August 15, 200619 yr >I know I'd miss head latency, and ground turbulance if I>disabled Active Camera. I take it Walk and Follow doesn't>have Head latency? No head latency in W&F at all. What W&F has is a better system for setting up angles for exterior shots, but that's about it. I so wish Active Camera had a similar ability; I really like AC's simple, point-and-click "instant tower view" for watching landings and such. And, of course, I love the latency. For what it's worth, I posted several times on their forums regarding an updated trial version since the older ones crashed. Nothing. No response, zilcho. Their update history page shows several fixes in the later versions; I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't crash or cause other glitches. And there were many others who posted similar requests. I think IGFly should be IGFly-by-night. :)
August 15, 200619 yr Actually I have Active Camera and Walk & follow working seamlessly! There is a problem with default keyboad conflicts, mostly with the define view keys and AI tracking key in AC (and I think there was one more, but I forget which one). Once they're redefined, all I need to do to toggle between them is the Num * key for walking and the Num / key for follow. Press them again and control goes back to active camera!! Head latency and all!! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
August 15, 200619 yr You might want to take a look at this module:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...util&DLID=89420This tool was written mainly to allow for recording of flights, but midway thru development a feature for setting up various camera and tower positions was added. In one word: FANTASTIC!!!!From how I have heard W&F described, this tool seems to have a similar set of features. Nope, it doesn't have head latency, but it does offer a rich set of features for setting up unique camera angles as well as "virtual wing views" on almost any aircraft you can fly in FS2004.I was all set to buy W&F, but this tool intervened and gave me everything I wanted for the price of...... freeware, and perhaps the price of giving its author praise every chance I get. Thanks again to Matthias Neusinger for a great tool, and I hope this helps some of those looking for features found in packages like W&F.-John
