December 14, 201411 yr I have a problem with the scenery and flight planner of on airport RPLL. The problem is that when I use an add-on scenery of RPLL (Manila Intl.) the flight planner crashes. What I did was I took the add-on out and tried to use the flight planner with the default scenery. The flight planner/flight simulator crashes. Is there any way I can fix this? I suspect it is a corrupt default file but I'm not sure. Is there anything I can do about this? Thank you.

December 16, 201411 yr Try deleting fs9.cfg and let FS9 rebuild it. It may hide the problem. December 16, 201411 yr Some scenery installations modify various default files such as AP type and AB types in the continental default folders overwriting them (and hopefully saving the original somewhere). Check out the modified dates in those with explorer and look for any recent changes. Refer to the add-on read me to see if any were changed. Check for multiple AFCAD type add-on files for RPLL. If more than one exists and one of those has a different airport reference point that could cause a crash. The only add-on AFCAD type should reside in the scenery folder of that add-on. There is a file here somewhere that lists what CD each default file resides on.
February 15, 201511 yr Author None of these are still working!!! Is there any other way without reinstalling fs2004??
February 15, 201511 yr Author There is a file here somewhere that lists what CD each default file resides on. Thank you ronzie this gave me an idea! What I have done is I went to AFCAD and typed in RPLL. When I pressed open new afcad, I clicked "From a specific file". That specific file led me directly to the corrupted scenery file AP980260.bgl in the Asia scenery file. I went through each disc and found the scenery folder on the fs2004 discs (I forget which one). I replaced the AP980260.bgl file from the disc to the scenery folder in fs2004. When I loaded my default RPLL all my problems disappeared. I added my add-on scenery back and the flight planner still kept working!(I will post a screen shot later)
February 15, 201511 yr There are a number of free flight planners on the internet all rather superior the MS one. I recommend you try vRoute ... a more sophisticated payware version is also available.
