December 20, 201411 yr I noticed Carenado Baron and C340 on sale now for Xplane 10-30 Anyone know if these planes are now 64 bit? Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
December 20, 201411 yr G'day, I just checked their site and they say both aircraft are 64 bit compatible. I might just have to buy them myself - thanks! Shane
December 20, 201411 yr Author G'day, I just checked their site and they say both aircraft are 64 bit compatible. I might just have to buy them myself - thanks! Shane I wonder if "64 bit compatible" means they are 32 bit but can run on Xplane's 64 bit? Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
December 20, 201411 yr Not sure, but here's a review of the Baron; http://asn-xp.aerosoft.com/?page_id=3506 It says it was updated to 32 and 64 bit standards, whatever that means:)
December 20, 201411 yr They've been 64 bit compatible ever since Version 2, they are up to Version 3.0 now.
December 20, 201411 yr Author That link mentions: "Overhauled plugin-enhanced sound and lighting, X-Plane 10 optimizations, and many further improvements. These packages run on either X-Plane 9 or X-Plane 10, so customers who bought them for X-Plane 9 could run them in X-Plane 10 without any problem.”" ******** See edit below : XP9 is 32 bit. XP10 is 64 bit. It is hard to sort out! The "compatible" part. X-Plane tech got me straight. X-plane10 is 64 bit but comes with X-plane10 32 bit program also. December 20, 201411 yr Author I wonder if the Carenado Baron for Xp10-30 is a lot better than the default Baron in XP10-30? Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
December 21, 201411 yr I got the Baron during last year's holiday sale, together with the F33 Bonanza. Really like both of them. The Carenado version looks much better than the stock X-Plane version, and the sounds are some of the best I've heard in X-Plane, almost on par with FSX. Haven't bought the C340, it doesn't really appeal to me. This year I picked up the Caravan and PA-32 Saratoga -
December 22, 201411 yr I wonder if the Carenado Baron for Xp10-30 is a lot better than the default Baron in XP10-30? Well, better sound, better graphics, better handling, Scroll-wheel support. The C340 on the other hand is probably ,together with the Malibu, the Carenado Plane that I nearly never use. Karsten Schubert
December 24, 201411 yr I just got the 340 - not a fan - way underpowered. It looks better than their Baron but I fly the Baron more. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
December 24, 201411 yr I think the main difference is that 64-bit compatible planes "may" use plug-ins that are 64-bit and do not work in 32-bit versions. On the other hand, if a plane is "64-bit compatible" it may not use 64-bit plug-ins and simply work in both versions? i7-4790K o/c @ 4.8 GHz, Corsair H-110 liquid cooler, 32 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, MSI Maximus VII Hero mobo Samsung Pro 512 GB SSD Corsair GFX Hydro GTX-1080 8 GB, (2) 4TB hybrid HDs Win 10 (1607), X-Plane 10.51r2 and X-Plane 11.01b1
