MS FSX vs DT FSX SE: The Conclusive Performance Benchmark

Recommended Posts

Just a note about UiAutomationCore.dll and folder access rights with the DTG FSX Steam Edition:

UiAutomationCore.dll v6.0.6001.18000 is supplied ready installed in the FSX Steam Edition folder, the Users Group is given proper access rights (include write and modify) as part of the Steam installation. MS boxed edition FSX users will know that UiAutomationcore.dll v6.0.5840.16386 (32bit) is required in the FSX folder, and the Users Group requires Write and Modify permissions set before installing addons.

Hi SteveW,

Are you saying that there is a problem with the UiAutomationCore.dll installed in FSX:SE? Does the dll need to be replaced?

Thanks

Setting AA to "enhanced" in NI requires you to switch it on in FSX. I wonder if it provides better results than "Override"...

I choose not to use NI, just the NV Control Panel.

Just checked and AA is On in FSX.

Thanks.

As both the control panel and NI do essentially the same thing, the results shouldn't differ.

I would choose Override and leave AA off in FSX.

Taxi line look worse on my system that way.

They do for me and because I would rather fly in FSX than tweak in NI, I chose to use the NV Control Panel and be done with it.

I do the same in NI. Set a few overrides and the FPS limiter, VSync and done. Two minutes tops.
