January 8, 201511 yr Hi, I want to buy NVidia GTX 760. Do you think, that would I feel any difference between 2GB and 4GB model if I play solely in full HD 1920x1080 resolution? I have found interesting comparison of those two: http://www.legitreviews.com/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-760-4gb-video-card-review-2gb-4gb_129062/3 As you can see, the FPS drops only in 4K resolution. The memory usage was 1920×1080 – 1350MB 2560×1600 – 2060MB 3840×2160 – 3850MB However, maybe Prepar3D uses more VRAM than Far Cry 3 and BF4? January 8, 201511 yr I'm far from an expert, but if you'll just use it to prepar3d and fsx, I don't think you'll see much difference. Cheers!
January 9, 201511 yr Author Thanks for your thoughts. Since noone else replied, I think, I will go with 2GB. Cheers, Lukasz Lukasz Kulasek i7-8700k, RTX 2080 TI, 32 GB RAM, ASUS TUF Z370-PRO Gaming, Oculus Rift CV1
January 9, 201511 yr I've just upgraded to a GTX970 4GB as with FSX DX10 Fixer I was peaking 1.4 with 3 monitors, really on 1 monitor I think it'd be hard to push it at a 1080 resolution but any higher probably better if you have the budget to go for 4. Jonathon
January 9, 201511 yr Do you think, that would I feel any difference between 2GB and 4GB model if I play solely in full HD 1920x1080 resolution? I run a triple monitor setup with 3 x 1920 x 1080 on a GTX780 with 3 Gb and have not had any issues with fps drops due to insufficient VRAM. So if you only run a single monitor then 2 Gb should be more than enough. But if I were you, I would rather buy a GTX970 than a GTX760. This is much more future proof... January 9, 201511 yr Lucasz 4Gb ram will come in handy if you ever run the 21:9 aspect ratio 34" monitors now becoming increasingly available, some versions of which use 1920 x 1080 too. The other reason for going 4Gb is if you run, or intend to run, DSR using quite high anti-aliasing etc.
January 9, 201511 yr 1080p one monitor 760gtx is fine that what I use on it, but 970 gtx at 330 may be better buy now as don't need to upgrade psu if it above 500 watts.
January 9, 201511 yr Author Thanks for all the replies. I need to rethink if I should go for 970 gtx. Will read some more. Thanks again, Lukasz Lukasz Kulasek i7-8700k, RTX 2080 TI, 32 GB RAM, ASUS TUF Z370-PRO Gaming, Oculus Rift CV1
