new 777 install can't find cabin views

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I installed the PMDG 777 yesterday with a few liveries, I have seen screen shots of looking from inside the cabin at the galley and out over the wing I can't find these views anywhere.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry moderators, I tried three times to post this question and I kept getting avsim forum down try again later, it would appear that there are now three posts.

Please feel free to delete the others, sorry.

Paul, the cabin views are not included in the default camera positions.  Truthfully, I've never been interested in cabin views but there's add-ons out there that let you roam around the aircraft.

Oh ok, I didn't realise that was the case.

I have the PMDG MD11 and although I haven't used it for quite some time I'm fairly sure it had a wing view from inside the cabin.

As a rule I am always in the cockpit when I'm flying but I like to do YouTube videos and I like to include different views to make it more interesting for viewers.

Thanks.

There isn't a genuine virtual cabin in the 777.  PMDG decided a long time ago that it would use up too much of the available resources.  However there is a very rudimentary cabin available from the "Aircraft" views.  I think it is meant to provide external views looking into the windows.

As Dan said, there is no default camera view inside the cabin.  But if you pick one of the "Aircraft" views, such as the left or right wing views, you can use default "Eyepoint" movement keys to go inside this cabin.  If you navigate up to the cockpit, you will find the two bobble-head pilots who are flying your aircraft -- one of them bears a striking resemblance to Robert Randazzo, not sure who the other one is.

FS-Recorder provides more flexible view options than FSX that are separate from its recording functions.  These are very useful for walking around the aircraft.

I would be curious to see some of the screenshots you mention.

Hi Mike,

I checked again and now I'm not sure where I saw the galley view, it's not on the PMDG product page.

I have seen youtube videos showing someone sitting in the cabin looking out over the wing flexing when taking off which really impressed me, but as you know with youtube and video editing it's difficult to know what is real and what is fake.

It could have been that "other brand." They seem to concentrate on eye candy.

That's what I was going to say. Any shots or videos that have a galley depicted must have come from the CS T7.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up for me, I thought I had something missing from my install.

I may have a look at easy dock for alternative views, I don't know anything about it yet so I have some Internet surfing to do.
