KMSY New Orleans from Imagine

Featured Replies

I like imagines sceneries. I think denver was great and I have no problems with Detroit. I am waiting a few days to get MSY but I will get it. I love airport sceneries and I like a good amount of detail but not overdone. I think they have done that. Flight Zone Rhode Island and Fly Tampa are great. Simflyers were my favorites since ther did my home airport PHL which for FS2000 was terrific but it is quite dated now (in accuracy and technology) I am sure it will never get (re)done correctly. There production has slowed down to a scenery a year it seems which is fine since I know no one is making a living on this but if others can produce a few good sceneries a year it is possible. Anyway I really have no beef with scenery makers they do the best they can and I am happy when I get something enjoyable.Dillon I asked before about the KIND scenery is it any better now? Has it been fixed? I might be interested in the lite version without the photo real scenery. Thanks

Hey Andrew, I like KIND allot but I don't think the main terminal crash bug has been fixed. I use the airport for FEDEX runs... Deciding on the lite version versus the full version is a mixed bag and is really determined on what you want to get. The lite version not only cuts out the photo scenery, it also cuts out the various new city buildings (I believe). I own the full version myself; it's very easy to remove the photo scenery from the scenery's texture folder (you'll figure out what files to remove). What's left is all the cool new buildings like the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.Overall it's a really nice scenery package with some minor bugs left to sort out...

>though the resolution in which the screenshots were taken was>most likely '640x480', the airport still doesn't look bad. IWell the current pixel size is 1280x1024. But regardless of the pixel size of the original, why would a company try to sabotage its own product by not showcasing it in the best possible light?. I suspect the answer is simple - the original doesn't look that much better. I did install their KDEN demo and there was not that much difference between what I saw in FS9 and their KDEN's shots. So I suspect the same applies to their new airport. Many textures slightly out of focus, blocky surfaces. No KMSY doesn't look bad but doesn't look like state of the art either (just compare with OSS' beta shots of EGKA or KMCI - 20/80 vision is enough to see the difference). 2 years ago I would have probably raved about it but today it is a different world.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg

Well Michael if your going to compare OSS, I'd sure like to see KMCI released versus the 2+ year wait that's been on going for quite some time now (will it ever get released???)... Please don't compare something that's been released (bug free) to something still in development, your point is far from being made in that instance... Another thing is who needs state of the art when the alternative is either the default scenery or the framerate hog freeware offering (I'll still thank the freeware designer for his time and effort). Furthermore Imagine's KMSY is far from freeware quality so my question to you is, what the heck are you looking for and/or expecting??? :-hmmm

I sure dont worry about what the screenshots show. I know what you get with the Imagine guys. They have been around awhile (with other developers). I look at the OSS screens and think they look unbelieveable but where are these projects. They have a list of upcoming projects but will they ever be released. I hope so but I am not too optimistic. Anyway MSY is great.

>to something still in development, Their Gatwick is no longer in development. It is available.>what the heck are you looking for and/or>expecting??? Quality, not quantity. I thought it was obvious.Again, I have nothing against ImagineSim folks. They do a reasonable job, just not my cup of tea, specially considering the price.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg

Dillon:as I've said before, it's useless to argue with people whose sentences include any one of the following:1) "I looked at the screenshots"2) "I installed the demo"etc. etc. Really just a waste of valuable time.Ricardo
