Solved! Stuttering/Freezes/Sync issues XPlane 10 w Nvidia GPUs

Featured Replies

Actually, the exe.program did not allow me to install 337.88 because it couldn't detect compatible hardware (I have a GTX 970). So I was forced to install latest driver.

You have to be careful when you make your selection for a new driver on the Nvidia website.  If you select the 32 bit version and you have a 64 bit OS, then you'll get that kind of error.  You might get that too if you accidentally select, say, the 900M series drivers which are for notebooks.  But the 32bit/64bit versions are the most common errors.

Running the latest Nvidia driver gives me an overall good performance, but I noticed that the stuttering/freezes mostly derive from weather injection. I only use default weather and injection by X-Plane itself, not Skymaxx etc.
