Van's freeware 727 install question

Featured Replies

I want to try the freeware Van's 727 but to insatll it they have a exe file. When you run the exe file there is no option to install the plane in a different folder except FS9. Is there a way to change this? I like to install freeware exe files in a different folder then copy and or move to my FS9 folder.

Where did you download this? I can't seem to find where to download it...:-hmmm

A possible option is to rename your fs9 folder and create a dummy.regards,MarkXPHomeSP2/FS9.1/3.2HT/1GIG/X700pro256

I got this plane and tried it, I feel this is an unfinished plane, it has no panel and no DVC or VC for that matter. The installer asks you if you want to use a panel of a plane you already have installed instead of supplying one with it....I promptly deleted the plane...

I already had a nice 727 panel, so that wasn't a problem, however I do have a problem with this plane. As soon as I load a flight with it, my joystick slams full forward and I can't take off. As soon as I end the flight or select a different plane, the joystick pops back to center. It is a Saitek Cyborg Evo force. I haven't had this problem with any other plane. If anyone has a suggestion, I'd appreciate it.At least the price is right! :)Jim

same problem here, the elevator was either full up or down with "jammed" joystick, cold not get it to take of so deleted it and downloaded the yellow DHL livery for my CS727-200 (i allready have the delta) instead. Pity because the external model was very good especially with the JetCityesque service vehicles.

Hello All, I dl'd this model, and it merged with the DF panel very nicely, althought I am sure I will continue to fly the DF because a. I was a beta tester and b. I think it IS athe best 727 out there, I have to admit, for freeware, it is one nice aircraft and the airstairs and freight trollys were pretty cool.Did have a problem with stall speeds and pitch, but again, for freeware, it's pretty hard to beat when merged with the DF panel . . . then again, if you HAVE the DF, not sure why you would fly anything else, as it IS the standard now for 727's.Best to allClayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. I like the textures, so what I did was merge it with the Bill Probst 727 panel and updated Flight Dynamics by Charles Fox. Added some smoke effects and voila....She flies well

What finally worked for me was copying the .air file for Eric Cantu's B727 to the Van's 727 and renaming it appropriately.Jim

I'm also having the install problem ..... is there any way around it? Installers aren't normally this fussy! :-lol

Yeah,Load it with the default and then go into the 'panel'.cfg and alias it to whatever panel other panel that you have?------------------------------------------------------------Right, should I do another quick lap of the old Nordeschliefe circuit with 'GT4' or go flying?Dave T.

Yeah, but you shouldn't have to do that. Has anyone noticed that the aircraft is very prone to stalls? 15 degree bank at 3600 ft, 180 kts and 2 degrees of flaps and the aircraft stalls miserably with little or no recovery -- it don't happen that way in the real aircraft!Best,Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T.
