Confused about UIAutomationCore and P3D

Featured Replies

The PMDG document on the 777 for P3D says to replace the UIAutomationcore.dll for Win 7 64-bit (page 24).  The CTD guide (page 7) on AvSim says this fix does not apply to FS9 or P3D.  Which is correct?

And, I could not find the file using the link in the PMDG documentation.

Thanks.

I haven't used the file on my install yet,and if you don't get crashes when using the menu, don't install the file.

Not needed in P3D. Will convey message for revision. Sorry for the confusion.

P3D doesn't have the bug

For completion sake, FSX:SE also does not need it.

Olivier Girard.

And just a note for the FSX users, PLEASE don't replace the DLL in the System32 folder, just copy over the correct UIAutomationCore to your FSX installation directory. Otherwise you can break some applications from starting.

I put the updated UIAutomationCore file in my P3D directory and it didn't break anything.  Sure, it might not be needed and next time Ryan edits the Introduction it may get dropped, it's just not high on the priority list now.
