March 14, 201511 yr I really really really dislike HDR... it's way overdone, the bloom is cartoony at best. With the right shader mods/tweaks it can be helpful but I like to keep it off. Interesting, I gotta try to fly with HDR off to see. Vu Pham i7-13700K 5.2 GHz OC, 64 GB RAM, RTX5090, SSD for Sim, SSD for system. MSFS2020, XP-12, DCS

March 14, 201511 yr Author Moderator I dislike it during night flight, but during the day HDR makes things look way better. With some careful tweaking, I think a good balance could be found that will work well. As it is by default, it is way too strong a contrast between the outside view and the cockpit view. Rob had posted a tweak some few months ago that worked really well for my needs. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
March 15, 201511 yr I agree, Bill. Rob's tweak works very well. Huge difference. I think it's stickied in the P3D Tips and Tricks forums.
