I really really really dislike HDR... it's way overdone, the bloom is cartoony at best.  With the right shader mods/tweaks it can be helpful but I like to keep it off.

Interesting, I gotta try to fly with HDR off to see.

I dislike it during night flight, but during the day HDR makes things look way better.

With some careful tweaking, I think a good balance could be found that will work well. As it is by default, it is way too strong a contrast between the outside view and the cockpit view.

 

Rob had posted a tweak some few months ago that worked really well for my needs.

I agree, Bill. Rob's tweak works very well. Huge difference. I think it's stickied in the P3D Tips and Tricks forums.
