Hi guys, just a simple question.  What is OOM?  I either never experienced it or don't know what that is....

I don't think the FS9 comment was meant in a spiteful way; FS2004 generally doesn't OOMs, hence the joke, whereas FSX easily OOMs if have certain addons installed.

No, no I'm not trying to be spiteful at all.  Just joking.  I only thanked atz because he was the one that really answered my question.  Apologies.

See the AVSIM CTD Guide regarding OOM's and, if you own any PMDG product, go to the Intro document to page, uh... 31, and they have an excellent explanation too. This topic has been beaten to death here at AVSIM and other websites so suspect this is one reason for some joking around here in this topic.

     Hi Jim, nice of you to help here.  But you see, I'm using  Avsim since recently and I'm not aware of something that has been topic long ago.  In fact I'm new at "flying ".  Jokes aside now.  As you can imagine I have to ask silly' questions 'cause I'm really looking for answers and I'm not familiar with some terms and so on.  It can't be so bad to ask... So, I do not appreciate sarcasm from any clever' members just because it's old questions for them.  After all, what is Avsim for?  That's all.  I'll check the doc you mentioned.

having noticed you got a comprehensive answer from Matthew already, I thought "my" OOM would not hurt so much.

 

No offence intended and I faintly remember having been a newbie myself ... about one or two centuries ago, I reckon!!!
