  1. Are those downloads for FSX Steam only or also for the FSX? johngoncalves
  2. Actually I took it too far, sorry.
  3. Hi Richie, you might think what you want. I accept that but nothing can be ruled out totally. Insiders do the tricky jobs of getting things past security. They can take anything needed inside. It has happened before. It boils down to either being delusional about security or being naive. On the former you'd loose nothing. On the latter you could loose it all. Cheers buddy. Enjoyed the debate. johngoncalves
  4. A device can left in the cockpit to go off later, the next day, or whenever without the pilots noticing. A person can force the pilots to take off with or without passengers that just arrived at their destination. Flight decks are locked from the inside with reinforced locks. So many possibilities and scenarios. Imagination is the limit. Unfortunately, these days, an aircraft can be potentially dangerous, even on the ground, as pmdg777 posted and I fully agree with it. The world has changed a lot in the last 10, 15 years. You know what I'm trying to say?... So much security at airports. People checked thoroughly and before or at the end of the flight anyone can be allowed in the cockpit. So, all security efforts are thrown out of the window right there. In my humble opinion, that's no good. Simmers, have good intentions but not all people in the world are like that. I wish I could have been inside a cockpit like some of you guys. It's also nice to read about it. But check news and documentaries. It's all there. How many planes are downed in circumstances of security. Being allowed in the flight deck is perhaps an accident waiting to happen, gentlemen. I understand you guys. Pilots are nice to let people in. Who could have imagined 9/11? Well sadly it did happen. I don't want to sound like doomsday profit, but anything can happen these days. Cheers. johngoncalves
  5. I think some of you guys are very naive or goodhearted if you don't see the danger... with all due respect. Cheers. johngoncalves
  6. Guys thanks a lot for all the input on manual landing. It was really what I needed to start landing by hand properly. Also note that on small planes I do always land manually without problems. It was the heavies that worried me. Your help is very appreciated. I'll soon be trying it out. johngoncalves
  7. Hi all, one question that actually I eventually got some courage to ask. I fly mainly pmdg's 737,T3, 747 among other planes and always do autolands as this is the only way I know. I've tried a couple of times to land manually when I started flying and usually they were not very good. I went through the manuals, especially pmdg's and learned how to autoland nicely, so because the manuals don't teach manually landings, or at least I did not find anything there I only autolanded . What is the pratical difference between manual and autolanding? How's thet done? I'm talking about what is engaged, the settings and so on? Thanks indeed in advance. Johngoncalves
  8. How long do we still have to wait for it guys? johngoncalves
  9. Hi Charlie, Luke, ok I'll download the link you you sent. It's quite a few addons. As I said, My traffic 2013, Fiber accelarator and others. Pmdg's planes are ok and a lot of other planes too, addon planes that is. Thanks a million. Will keep you posted as soon as I get a get a gap to download the upgrade. john
  10. Hi guys, I got a new pc, with more up to date components, better for FSX. Took my ssd and installed on the new pc. Just about everything worked well with the exception of addons like My traffic 2013, Fiber accelerator, etc. As I tried to re-install them an instruction saying that I have to activate FSuipc appears. I never did any settings on this and don't know anything about FSuipc, really. Can someone shed some light on this? I have no clue how to sort this one out. Thanks in advance. john goncalves
  11. Hi, something similar happened to me with PMDG 747. If you cannot uninstall it properly before you re-install I think the plane is gone. Could not get 747 re-installed. Gone with the wind...even if I got it re-installed, when you press any buttons/knobs on the cabin, everything just dies. Battery switch also does not work. Hope you have better luck than me. john goncalves
  12. Hi guys, I'm buying a PC, that was used for gaming, but not FSX simulation. It works well with any game on high settings and so on. It has a (small) processor, intel i3 2100 3.1 Ghz., MSI G-force gtx 550 1 gig.. Could these components handle FSX? What should the minimum specs be for a decent frame rate? Say at least 15 fps, minimum. It also has a MSIZ77A-G43 mobo and 8 GB Corsair Ram. Please expert advice. Thanks a million. john goncalves
  13. Hi, you guys want smoothness? Just try the Embraer 170/195 from Feelthere. It runs extremely smooth, I would think on most rigs. john goncalves
  14. Randy, are you using perhaps Acuffeel? Sometimes if you set your Acuffel in a certain way, some planes behave like that or cannot even fly properly. Cheers. john goncalves
  15. Thanks guys. How long till the v2 comes out? Any idea?
  16. Hi guys, I'm experiencing some problems trying to re-install Pmdg's 747. Never had any problems with the NGX or T7 from Pmdg. The 747 somehow got corrupted as when I tried to get it ready for take off the gauges would just switch off. I uninstalled and re-installed it again having exactly the same reaction, gauges switching off. I even checked that all switches were on and so on. I downloaded again the 747, but no joy. Now my questions are: blems a. The download is just over a year old, although I re-installed just before and after one year. I read somewhere that these downloads are only for a year. Perhaps I did not uninstall it properly. I do not seem to have any uninstall icon on the Airplane's file or anywhere else. On the uninstall problems forum/747 it is not precisely the same issue. Is there a right way to uninstall it? b. Is Pmdg upgrading or making a new 747? What other developer has a 747 on the same level or there abouts? I'm using W7-64bit/ FSX. A million thanks in advance. john goncalves
  17. Well then, should the forum be closed for some reason, and the 'committee/consortium' stopped from giving their views we could just post a request from anyone here, Avsim, as to the quality of some item, which could then be of a blunt nature and really not the best the developer wanted to read about... The bottom line is honesty. From the developer and what is written about their products. No one likes to buy an item that does not correspond with cover claims and/or hidden defects as we read so many times. You cannot always judge by the price, unfortunately. There are many products with inflated prices and no one posted a review at the time of purchase. Or a review from someone undermining, a good product, due to a lack of knowledge.
  18. Hi guys, I agree with most of you about the advertising issue, without singling out any developer, as it would be unfair, in my understanding. There should be an "advisory committee" formed by licensed pilots, if possible, or at least with a vast knowledge of simulation aircraft to test the planes. The developer should perhaps solicit the committee to test if they so wished with no obligation whatsoever. The committee then rates the item, from 1 to 5, let's say, stars. 2 or 3 test should be more than sufficient. And that would give the user an overall idea of the product he/she was about to purchase. And of course, it should be stated that it would only be a recommendation or some kind of guidance to the purchaser. Is this a bit far fetched? I don't think so. There's a lot of men out there for the job here at Avsim with 100% integrity and unbiased. Happy landings. Cheers. john goncalves
  19. Are you having those kinds of problems with EZCamViews? No, Ralph I'm not having problems as I did not install it yet. Just trying to see if some people got any issues with the cam. Thanks john goncalves
  20. Wobbie right click to accept the download and it will download.
  21. Hi Ralph, guys, has anyone had any issues with the cams? Maybe slowing down, crashing to desktop and the like? Cheers.johngoncalves

Hi there guys, yes agreed, not a top add on if compared with other high end. I did exaggerate. But if you make a flight plan from A to B, you'll get to B without any problems and as you planned. You'll autoland if you so wish and flare it yourself on landing as long as you disconnect A/P. The fuel weights were at roughly 30%. I do stand by what I said it's still nice to fly it. mIFR or VRF. Just the old problem nose down on landing. But will try to rectify that one as advised by some members and ok systems are not so good. FMS very basic too. Thanks to you all for the help. I do really appreciate. You're a great bunch of people. Cheers john goncalves

Thanks guys, but you 're not helping with the my questions. :Shame On You: Cheers
  24. jcpg replied to mchapman's topic in PMDG 777
Hi guys, on some planes the Redux lights might look a bit exaggerated, but I can tell you on PMDG T7 and NGX it looks perfect. No "fog" look whatsoever, just perfect lighting, strong like the real thing. Cheers. johngoncalves
