OK... Flight scenary Flightzone01- RI is better than I thought.

I just wish somebody came out with scenery that was good at all flight levels, and that blended in with the default terrain/add-on meshes like FS Genesis, etc.

It is Flightzone01- RI. It is not perfect but it is closest existing scenery to the requirements you stated above.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg

I'd agree with you..if they had done the entire So Cal or the entire NY area or the entier PNW. Like Mega scenary is. Instead of 3 airports in a very very localized setting.

Good point but I was hoping for a bigger area as I usually fly either jumbos and see the scenery briefly. Although when the feelthere C208 comes out I might have to pick up this scenery and fly around the East Coast more.

That's my main point about the scenery - there is no way to make it big enough because no matter how big it is you will be able to 'outrun' it very quickly in a jet. Any sensible approach to future scenery generation is to cover only limited area (say 20x20 miles) around some airport of interest and leave the default in between. This way you will be looking at a very believable scenery when you are low to the ground, on approach, etc. There is very little point in wasting someone's effort and your $$ on stretches of scenery where you are flying in a jet at FL410. So in my opinion RI scenery foots the bill perfectly for this sort of "focused" scenery. And it is extremely well done and blends with the rest very well. Perfect "approach" scenery.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg

True again, but I don't think 40 dollars for some nice approach scenery and a small time airport is worth it. But I don't really fly in the area so that would be why. I wish the price was cheaper though

"small time airport" PVD FAR from a "small time airport"....it's one of the fastest growing airports in the country, and Southwests "jewel of the northeast". As a matter of fact, they want to buy my house because fedex/ups wants to build a huge freight terminal. We're stealing TONS of traffic from KBOS. We built the new terminal maybe 10 years ago, and its already too small. PVD is actually the size airport the developer is looking for. Not everyone enjoys flying into these HUGE hubs where with ai and nice scenery you're going to get what 9fps? thats no fun....Take a vacation to RI and see the beauty of the "Ocean State," yachting capital of the world (almost) and maybe then you'll understand why they choose this tiny state.sorry to defend so heavily but it's my home....hahaIf you dont want to fly to RI, maybe u need to broaden your mind and fly somewhere new for a change (im guilty of the same thing) but dont run around saying the scenery is bad just because you do not fly there.

I have to agree, I never flew in Rhode Island, never crossed my mind. But after getting this scenery from the screenshots and hearing what a few users have said, I fly there quite a bit now. Turns out my design partner lives in Boston and she has been there several times and loves it IRL. On top of that, I did a little research about the area, learned a little and it gave me a feel for the area more. I added the sceneries from William Shea, which are nicely done, added some AI, found a Cape Air repaint for the 421C from Flight1 and I have been having a blast.I have a good system, but even it can't handle the big payware airports with full AI and real weather and be enjoyable, this one can and is...for me.Funny, I live I Dallas, TX and hardly ever fly in this area. Now if these guys were to do the regionals around here, especially KADS (my fav) I'd be in heaven!Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International

I didn't mean small time airport as an insult, I ment it compared to the airports I usally fly out of. Something like KLAX, KSFO, that can handle a fully loaded 742F

PVD is a nice airport to taxi in and take in all the detail with full AI including the air national gaurd planes AND get 25fps!a flight I take frequently is PVD to Marthas Vineyard and KBOS....and since my wife works for SWA I often fly SWA 737s in and out of there

disclaimer YOU = generic you in the following post:-lol If you would be typically flying into PVD from ATL in a 767 then your statement is correct. It is approach scenery. However if you depart North Central State in an Archer and hop from there to PVD to Quonset to Block Island and back, you have a very very nice blend of photo scenery with Autogen and some beautifully rendered airports. And you'll spend a fair amount of time to get that done. So the key to the value of this or ANY scenery addon is the answer to the question...How do you spend most of your time flying? Altitude/Speed at cruise, plain and simple. Do you fly point to point or do you fly patterns. How do YOU fly?disclaimer...YOU=generic you in the following post How you fly has absolutely no baring on the quality of a scenery product. It does affect the "value" of that scenery for you.People should be careful not to judge the "quality" of a scenery based how they use it instead of the scenery itself. As a low and slow flyer, I love the RI scenery. I would love to see many more like it. That said, I know how I fly most of the time in FS and make my addon purchases based on that. I don

Something like>KLAX, KSFO, that can handle a fully loaded 742FThere are other airports not necessary "mega" type that can handle 747. Like Portland, Oregon, Bangor, Maine or Oakland, California. And these are airports I would rather have if I were to simulate flying 747. Smaller airports come with much better performance and this is what is most important in my flying. 747 operate out of 270+ airports in the world today.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg
