The hero and formula have the same power delivery as far as over clocking goes. Just don't rely on the automatic vcore voltage if you clock higher than 4.4, Asus pumps way to much voltage for that modest clock on the 4790k.

 

Hi Brother - I am at 4.6ghz now at 1.312V is that to high - I think I lowered at one time to 1.3V and was still fine but heres is another question went to 4.8 and got bsod in p3d while flying back to 4.6 and all is perfect - I used aisuite to do this by the way - I cant stand bios overclocking so if I can have a solid 4.6 I am pretty happy with that - just wondering what you think - thanks

You can run those volts all day long as long as your cooling is OK. I put my limit at 1.4v, but was able to get stable 4.8 at 1.3. That's where my 120mm radiator starts choking tho. 4.6 at 1.312, looks good and nothing to worry about there at all. Don't hesitate to go higher with your volts to get 4.8, if you can stress test 4.8 and stay below 80c you are good, you shouldn't need any more that 1.35-1.40 vcore to get those numbers.

Thank you lot of work but well worth it - these closed looped coolers work great and for the cost well worth it I dont think my cpu goes above 50 degrees while in P3D and my gpu never goes above 32 degrees cant ask for more really for the price - luv corsair products but trashed that corsair link software its crap just use ASUS smart fan now

 

Oh by the way EVGA now offers colored power supply wires - could have been whiter like my corsair ax1200 versions but I like this power supply better (Supernova 1000 P2) its amazing - rock solid - wires are not cheap but again makes the overall look thats for sure

I saw those wires, look awesome but I've got an OCZ supply, and the modular cables are male on both ends! I did have my eye on the Evga supernova 860, should be enough for the upcoming 980ti or maybe another 970 SSC. All hangs on what nvidia does with these new drivers.

Honestly, I think I am going to stick with my 780's for right now. With DX12 coming soon, vram will be stack-able, so 3Gb will be 6 etc. Also, a new form of SLI rendering, Split frame rather than alternating frames. The frame syncing should be a lot better.

That's a solid build.  But if you're willing to wait a bit longer Intel's next microarchitecture, Skylake, is just around the corner.  Late Summer, Fall-ish 2015.  Supposed to be decent.

 

But on the other hand I can understand not wanting to wait for the next best thing hehe.

I like it, but i think that a 1000W PSU is totally overkill. I'd get a 750W PS

Noctua NH-U14S is great for ocing.

Only two sticks of RAM (2x8) 'd be better in order to not stress the IMC. And you save few bucks.

I've got a CH yoke and pedals.  They are in perfect condition.  Too late about the supply, it was delivered today!

 

You could drop that PSU down to their 850 series easily. Save a few dollars. Unless you plan on adding an additional GPU at some point. I have their 1200 P2 Platinum. It's a great PSU and a 10 YEAR, yes YEARS, warranty how can you go wrong?
