Water reflections

Featured Replies

Has anyone else noticed in the 10.40 beta run that water reflection, even at low setting KILL FPS by 7-10FPS ? and introduce minor stutters?

Ian

Hmmm... didn't knew why in latest beta I did notice a slight drop in my fps, interesting I'll check that later at home.

yeah, try disable the water effects, my FPS literally jumped up by 7-10 and got rid of stutters! This was along a coastline in NE England.

Absolutely Ian, so I use the minumum. Not a biggie for my tubeliners but I can see that woukd be frustrating for GA pilots.

i have found there isn't much difference from minimum to default in terms of FPS loss...... Off seems to be the only solution!

So are you auggesting water performance in 10.40 < water performance in 10.36?

If so , please a file a bug LR shouls know about that.

yeah most definitely. Im smooth as silk with no water reflections, but as soon as I set it to 'low' or above, it stutters and drops FPS> Sure this wasn't like this in 10.3x

So imo what you should do is upload 2 pics with the fps box one from 10.36 and from 10.40 (and same settings and situationa) describing what you saw so and then file a bug , then LR can reproduce the bug and ivestigate it...

Have to check it on my system :-/

It appeared to me not to have such a significant impact on the frames, but will have to check again....
