September 18, 201510 yr If you start ASN, go to the Settings Tab, Click on WARN on FSX AFFINITYMASK setting, just check that it has been disabled (Not ticked) I7 7700K, RTX2070 XC, 32Gb Ram, Win 10 Pro 64bit, P3D v4

September 18, 201510 yr hmmm, sorry, maybe because you are using P3D and the ASN version is different. Sorry that I wasn't much help. I7 7700K, RTX2070 XC, 32Gb Ram, Win 10 Pro 64bit, P3D v4
September 18, 201510 yr If you all remember from P3d Forums and optimization, the DEV's stated that they already optimize cpu loads in p3d better then fsx did, and that affinitymask is not needed. you can find it alot of info on that. Affinity was mostly related to fsx days. there was a gentleman who posed a comprehensive report and tesitng with p3d and afinity mask and he had even videos showing how p3d behaves with AM set and basicly from his info sounds like P3d prefers core1 for its scenery texture processing when you start messing with core allocation its not happy and starts creating blurries. anyways long story short, AM is not needed in p3d i burned alot of time on it and pretty much came to conclusion after funding that info that p3d runs clean without it. September 18, 201510 yr Author It just occurred to me that about 6 weeks ago I downloaded and tried a program called Process Lasso. I tried a couple of things in the program, and it made my sound stutter, so I uninstalled it. It was supposed to reset everything to what it was before it was installed. I wonder if it was that program that placed the affinity mask in my cfg file?
September 18, 201510 yr Hi Bob, are you using any of FSDT,s add ins? Their add on manager will place an affinity mask setting, as well as some other entries into the cfg file. It will ask you before saving any settings changes made to the add on manager. Regards, Jazz

In fact the add on manager did an update, which had a problem, and I had to do it again, and then GSX had an update which required a reinstall.

September 18, 201510 yr Author I just checked, and the very day that I ran the GSX Installer update and updated the GSX program to the latest version is the dame exact day my blurries and lower frame rates began.
September 18, 201510 yr The Virtuali Add-On manager will add settings to your Prepar3d.cfg ... if you notice the info on the right side and you allow it to make the changes ... for some reason it defaults to Affinity 14 (not really sure why) ... there are also other settings such as FFTF and a few others that the Add-On manager can update in your Prepar3d.cfg. You might want to check in with the Umberto/Virtuali and ask about what the Add-On manager will and will not do relative to those settings. Cheers, Rob.

I don't remember getting any box that I checked allowing changes like that, but I did have problems that day with the install of the add on manager update, and had to do it twice. This may be when it happened, Funny that several people flying the Airbus posted on having similar blurry problems on and around the date of the update. I bet they have similar changes in their cfg if they have any programs like GSX.All i know is it created a ,major hassle for me that I do not ask for. .
September 18, 201510 yr It does not make them changers on its own, you have to tell it OK. Its suggests loads of setting they look like the old Jeuus(cannot say real name) config changers, anyway none are set unless you let it and you should not. If you did let it by mistake then even more reason to delete you config and start a fresh. David Murden. I look carefully at everything I download and install, no matter who it is from. Been doing this PC thing since the mid 80's.
September 18, 201510 yr Just trying to help Bob, will leave you to it. Just like the other replys above it wil not over right you config and add AM on its own. The window with all the changers are there when you activate a new program like GSX or go into the addon manager. Anyway will call it a day. Please give a thought to simply deleting you config a 2 min job and your all fresh and new. David Murden. Guess none of us can read.
