Cosford 2015

Featured Replies

So, who managed to get to the Cosford 2015 Flightsim Show? I was at the front door a full 50 minutes before opening time. In fact, I think I scared off one or two other early arrivals because they thought that I was an official doorman with the UK2000 ID card around my neck! The show was even better (and busier) than last year. The queue shortly before the doors opened was very long, and they just kept coming for quite some time! A really impressive sight.

I met three guys the night before at a local restaurant, and plenty more during the show itself. I also made "second contact" with others that I had met at last year's show. It was a real pleasure to talk to you all.

For anyone who has never visited a flightsim show like this, I can't even begin to describe how awesome it is to meet other flightsimmers, and talk about our favourite subject. My back was aching towards the end of the day from all the standing, but I would quite happily have come back the next day for more. There is something really satisfying about being able to talk freely to others who know what I am talking about, rather than just blank stares and nods from sympathetic family members  I love helping others who are trying to make purchasing decisions about products that I am familiar with, and I have to be honest here and say that it was a bit of a thrill when people recognised my name and UK2000 Beta Tester status from the ID card around my neck. Well, we all want to be famous don't we?

I would love to hear what you all thought of the show.

Another great show with the obligatory look around the rest of the museum. Came away with an open cockpits com module for a bargain price too. :) great to see new exhibitors, and to chat with some devs. Hopefully even more next year!

It was nice to meet you Christopher. I enjoyed the show and although I forgot my name badge (again!!) a few like yourself managed to recognise me. It's always nice to put faces to names.

Pete D and I enjoyed the presentation on a new scenery developer whose first product is Manchester. It's always nice to hear from these developers and it was quite an eye opener for me on the cost of the software they use. I can now better understand how difficult it is to design airports.

For a change I bought nothing. I tried my hand on a nice X-Plane set-up. Not tempted to switch though.

Travelling down from Cheshire on a foggy autumn morning was not ideal but the weather picked up in Staffs and was fine on my return home.

I shall be back next year and will take my own PC and have FS Labs' Concorde-X on demo with the NWFSG.

Had a great day as usual at Cosford, enjoyed chatting and getting opinions from others and I always look forward to this event because of the venue. Did a bit of shopping while I was there of course as its great value and I think there is a different kind of satisfaction buying face to face with the vendors and talking about the products. Long may this event continue and thanks to the sponsors.

Another great show year, the 100m queue at 10am was interesting to see as myself and youtuber Mantock Productions pulled into the first overflow car park thinking we might be a little early! But as with last year I think most go early and then do the museum so going around the stands in the afternoon really does allow you some time away from the crowds to talk to people. Happy to meet so many customers and community members and already looking forward to next year!

I was so early that the JustFlight guys hadn't finished erecting the flags and banners! It was nice to see that one or two recognised me from last year

Hi All

Yeah what a great day. My only regret that i didnt communicate enough with other people and listen to their expierences with problems that they may have ecountred along the way with regards to the sim. I love my flight sim, recently downloaded P3D V3 which im still trying out, currently using FSX gold edition. I do a lot of travelling with my job so decided to buy a good lap top so i can spend my evenings exploring our virtual world, so when i heard i was close to Cosford last Saturday jumped at the chance to be there and was amazed at the amount of people who have the same interest as my self. My home adress is in Cardiff and would love to know if there are any groups close to home where i could get together and share our interest.

                                                                                                                                                              Thanks Shaun
