What does it matter? Did FSUIPC install correctly for P3Dv3?

I uninstalled P3D v2.4, not FSX. Why would it be looking for fsx.exe? FSX has never been installed on this PC.

EDIT - Ah, now I see what Bill is talking about. I cancelled the requests for FSX, P3D v1 and P3D v2, and it progressed properly through the P3D v3 setup. A strange way of doing things, but as long as it solves my current issue I don't care!

Just for interest, look at the FSUIPC log - it will tell you if it found registry keys and that's why it goes looking for the respective .exe.  Ask Pete.   Maybe you cloned the PC.  Or restored.  Bet you a pint that the registry entry is mentioned in the log and is in your registry.

And yes, what does it matter, except you have to sit and click ignore 2 or 3 times every time you update FSUIPC   WotthehellArchie, Wotthehell!

Have you by any chance been using a migration tool? They fiddle the Registry to allow installers which don't know about P3D to install there. It sounds like it left your Registry still with FSX pointers.

Why strange? Would you prefer it to do nothing, not even tell you, if you expected it to install in a Sim you thought you had set up properly, and it didn't? Many folks have screwed up installations. If you really had FSX but had moved it (as people do), the FSUIPC installer would have allowed you to point to it, and furthermore would then have offered to fix the Registry for you!

Hi I have recently installed the traffic Optimizer for P3d and am getting this error, any hel would be much appreciated as I am now banging my head on the wall lol.

FSUIPC_FSUIPC.FSUIPCException:FSUIPC Error #9:FSUIPC_ERR_NOTOPEN. The connection to FSUIP is not open

Do you have the older simconnect installed, from SP1?  I think it works only with that version.  P3D have provided that in the "redist" folder of your main P3D folder.

yup have them all installed, this is driving me nuts lol.
