Does anyone have the Orbx Global base pack and Vector working in PD3 V3 yet ?

I have Global Base installed but Vector isn't ready for P3Dv3 yet. Orbx did release an update for Vector just not with the V3 installer.

I wonder why the Vector installer for P3D V3 takes so long....

I have Global, as well as OpenLC EU and England regions installed. They all installed easy and work just fine.  Vecotr may be taking a while as ORBX may also be incorporating updates to issues form the past version...just a hunch.

Origin EON-17SLX - Under the hood: Intel Core i7 7700K at 4.2GHz (Base) 4.6GHz (overclock), nVidia GeForce GTX-1080 Pascal w/8gb vram, 32gb (2x16) Crucial 2400mhz RAM, 3840 x 2160 17.3" IPS w/G-SYNC, Samsung 950 EVO 256GB PCIe m.2 SSD (Primary), Samsung 850 EVO 500gb M.2 (Sim Drive), MS Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit

Vector could be held up due to the developer, which is PILOT'S. Orbx just sell Vector rebranded.

Perhaps because it is the first of the products that actually need files changed to actually work in v3..?

Objectflow, peopleflow and other .dlls need recompiling, perhaps it's the same for all, many or some of the Vector elements ?

And so long? Er, you do remember P3D V3 only hit the streets 26 days ago ?  :fool:

No need to be harsh. I was just under the impression that it's only an installer thing and nothing has to be changed in the actual vector files. OpenLC and Global were out in a matter of days/weeks.

Have you (or anyone else for that matter) ever sat through an installation and watched the cool looking meter bar progress from left to right and just above from that awesome animated graphic, you can see directories and files appearing and disappearing faster than Ewe Bol?  Well, if you watch closely, you can see the directory names change, which means that another reason for the lengthy update is that within the installer, they have to code change to accommodate for install paths, all of which are updated to the corresponding installer.  Adding to that, the individual files within Vector have to be pointing to the correct places.  As a former Code QA/QC grunt, it does take a lot of time to look through lines upon lines of code to ensure everything works correctly.  If anything, I'd rather ORBX take their time with updates, ensuring safe and smooth installs as I am sure they don't really like having to field a bunch of issues if something breaks.

That's the long story.  The short story, well Louis made the point.

Actually, the delay is because the Vector Configurator needed to be revised and tested. The Vector 1.30 patch for P3d V2.5 is already out. If one installs the patch into 2.5 and then just points the P3d V3 scenery.cfg properly to the Vector files, it works flawlessly with P3d V3.
