Does anyone know if REX has a website where their customers can download purchased programs, besides SPs and updates?

 

I just tried to reinstall my REX softclouds on my newly built PC, with FSX-SE.  The file I got when I purchased Softclouds, last year, does not install any longer. The only files I am able to find on their sites are updates, and cannot be used unless softclouds is already installed. I had no problems installing REX 4 Texture Direct, but cannot get Softclouds to install. I tried leaving a message on their support forum, but can't check if my message got posted.  Their forums are cryptic and too difficult to navigate to get any timely answers!

When I downloaded the latest version of REX 4 Texture Direct, it gave me the option to insert my serial key for Soft Clouds. That way, I didn't have to re-install Soft Clouds with the REX 4 Texture Direct.

 

If you have the version of REX 4 Texture Direct with Soft Clouds integration, you won't have to have the Soft Clouds software, just your serial key for Soft Clouds.

I just got the latest Soft Clouds installer by logging in to the REX store account where I bought it, and going to the previous orders page.

Soft clouds is now part of the texture package. There is info on how to upgrade

I tried all  this, but keep getting an error saying that I need a newer version of Softclouds. That is what I'm trying to find, but so far all I get is REX and softcloud updates and SPs which I cannot install because I don't have the softclouds program installed. I'm in a catch 22 situation!

You need to re install  the soft  clouds   from where  you purchased  it  from the first place it  should  be  updated  to the latest   version, if you still having  issues   you need to post your issue  in the rex  forum.  First you need to be verified  first by going  here if  you havnt  been verified before

THIS IS THE PROCEDURE ON HOW TO INSTALL THE ADD-ON SOFT CLOUD PACK FOR REX 4 - TEXTURE DIRECT.

I. INSTALLATION PROCESS

 

STEP 1 - Click on the link provided.  This will automatically download the zip file.  Unzip the files into a temp folder on your hard-drive.  Then right click on the setup.exe file to run as the administrator to install.

STEP 2 - When the installation wizard asks you for the folder to install REX 4 - Texture Direct Soft Cloud Pack, click the … button and select the folder where you installed REX 4 Texture Direct  (i.e - C:\REX Texture Direct).

STEP 3 - Enter your Soft Cloud Serial Key.

STEP 4 - After the installation process is over, click the "FINISH" to close out the installation.

 

At the bottom of this page is the download link for the REX 4 Texture Direct with Soft Clouds integration. This is the download link:

Download the file and when you launch the installer, it will ask you for the Serial Key for Soft Clouds. Just type in your Soft Cloud Serial Key and continue with the installation.

 

Soft Clouds will automatically be installed with this particular installation of the REX 4 Texture Direct with Soft Clouds.

 

You do not have to have Soft Clouds installed for this version of REX 4 Texture Direct with Soft Clouds. Just enter the Soft Cloud Serial Key when asked to do so and REX 4 Texture Direct with Soft Clouds will install beautifully.

I finally got into the REX support  forum, and they are looking into why I'm unable to install/upgrade my Soft Clouds.

 

Hopefully I'll have a resolution soon.
