C'mon moderator! I can maybe see where you are coming from -- BUT the screenshot forum is for screenshots. This is the MS flight simulator forum and small pics as per the uploading limits set by Avsim are often relevant to explaining a subject of a posted thread. Somebody started a thread discussing the new Eaglesoft Cirrus and the embedded JPG was deleted and the poster told to post in the screenshots forum Now, I must admit , that I don't know the size of the JPG (as it was deleted) - however if it was too large and above the specified limit, then that should be corrected - not telling them to post in the screenshots forum, which in my view is in fact an incorrect forum for the post. I noticed that this happened to another post yesterday as well.Barry

The screenshot doesn't belong in that thread, in my opinion. Let them abide by what has been the norm around here for MANY years.And cut the mods some slack here. I think they do a great job moderating here and if they let the precedent stand of screenshots in this forum, then that is what will happen. Constantly. I don't want that, but maybe others here do. Actually,Commercial threads are allowed now, even in the screenshot forum, which is where it should have been posted in the first place.Had they not included the screenshot, the post was fine, in my opinion.That thread apparently had an image hot linked from a commercial site.In other words, a member linked to an image was on another site. Hi there,I originally posted the Cirrus preview post and tried to make a screenshot of the video but it turned out black while saving as a jpg (?). So I decided to search for an image of the Cirrus with the parachute but could not find any, so I posted a nice image of the interior of the plane from the Cirrus site...nothing more, nothing less, no intention to break any rules, so no need to discuss any hot items..:-sun1All the best! To go down, pull the stick>back harder"Rob, as we all know, sometimes innocent users link pics from our site without our knowledge and in the past they were allowed by the mods here because the user in question had some useful dialog.In that case Sonar5 was told to ease up on his bias and stop his hijacking antics...the thread was allowed to stay with the pics intact.In this case it may be that the mods considered it more "commercial" and/or the policy may have changed. In any case it is our understanding that Sonar5 is longer a mod here and therefore has no authority as to what the mods decide:-) We do thank you for your input and for starting the thread even though it may have unintentionally violated a rule here:-)

Hi Ron (and sorry for calling you Roy :) )Well your great Cirrus did have it's faire share of attention ;)What I find however more disturbing is the avsim policy of completely removing my original post about the Cirrus preview video...:-hmmmIt seems that my posting was wrong, while in fact that other guys spoiled the fun while hijacking the tread....It seems that the avsim forum (admins, mods, posters, me included) take themselves far to serious...it's a shame that enthusiasm about the hobby or it's products, whether freeware or payware is being punished...I've been a moderator on several fora for many years and it's possible to maintain a discussion without removing a entire posting...Well let's end my charade by again expressing my admiration for cutting edge products like the Cirrus SR20 or the Sea Hurricane of Robert Sanders for that matter (freeware and choosen as aircraft of the month on the other site)...:(all the best!Rob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://www.emotipad.com/emoticons/Flying.gif"To go up, pull the stick back. Where do we draw the line Barry? Please respect that many of our users are still on dial up--myself included. I have no problem with images posted to aid users, such as images of MSFS settings and even product images as long as they are posted to aid users in answering a question in some way. But images to purely promote a product--that's what we do in the screenshots forum every day. That's where those images should be, and they should NOT be property of any other site. I consider the discussion closed. -John
