September 3, 200520 yr There's so many great aircraft both payware and freeware. Back with 2002 i used to always come back to the Dreamfleet 737 (although merged with Arianes model) but things have moved on and it has aged. RFP 747-200/posky is fantastic but the daddies of flight sim these days are Level D and PMDG. Anything that's so complicated, you can't just jump in and fly, you have to read a bit of the manual just to get the basics is good. I prefer payware obviously because you get the whole package instead of just a model were you have to hunt about for the right panel and sounds etc ... bit frustrating.Anything that scares you even when you know its not real ;-)EDIT: Aeroworx "sweaty palms" Beech 200 is another must have.Pyjamas
September 3, 200520 yr Despite having shelled out on most payware aircraft, for me there's only one: Altitude Concorde (www.sstsim.com):)Cheers,Paulhttp://www.bavirtual.org/images/sigs/paul_sst.jpgConcorde Training Captainwww.BAVirtual.co.uk

September 3, 200520 yr Carabou is right! I like low and slow, and although I have accumulated everything from FSD's Porter and Cheyenne to RAS's Scout, Decathlon and SF 260, the planes I consistently RETURN to are Bill and Lynn's.
September 3, 200520 yr Big Iron:HJG DC8,vistaliners 727 and SGA DC9-10small iron:Shupe's commanders,b18,howard 500,dash 7.i have only a few addon planes installed,only those i fly,the rest i have burned on cd,and i sometimes get one off it tofly something different.cheersJP.
September 3, 200520 yr HI,reading the posts I find myself in agreement with all of them.If you love planes, flying, and aviation in general,Its difficult to choose. In the real world ,money, and costs dictate what you fly.For many ,if it gets off the ground, and cheap, thats the best plane in the world. For others ,well were all not John Travolta, bless his little heart, the Sky's the limit. The only other thing that may be most difficult to simulate ,is the wind on the control surfaces, and its effect on different planes,IE wind, crabbing, sliping, thermals ect..A C-140,is not a 747,in crosswind conditions. A definitive book to explain the winds effect on aircraft may be"Stick And Rudder" by Wolfgang Langewiesche. I found that this book made me visualize, and explain, what I'm feeling,in my butt(Your Butt may be the best indicator of what your plane is feeling).Meanwhile, the "WRIGHT FLYER" may need an other look at.MMMM how did they do that when no one can since??? "OFF WE GO.....I HOPE" VIN ;)
September 5, 200520 yr I have a LOT of addon planes, but somehow I keep coming back to the good ole gifts of Bill and Lynn Lyons.
