December 1, 201510 yr Got my copy of Flying in the mailbox today and they ran an article on the new 4 seat diamond twin, the DA62 I love everything about the plane http://www.diamond-air.at/twin-engine-aircraft/da62.html | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

December 1, 201510 yr Yes it looks amazing but why would you get this rather than a Cirrus SR22T. I think the SR22T beats it in almost every category. Mark CYYZ
December 1, 201510 yr Yes it looks amazing but why would you get this rather than a Cirrus SR22T. I think the SR22T beats it in almost every category. Well, it's got 2 engines (so I'm assuming better performance especially from hot/high airports), a higher service ceiling, 2 extra seats, 385 nm more range @60%, max payload is 709lbs more, and uses 11.8 gph vs 12.4 gph @ 60% than the cirrus. However, it is more expensive. Personally, I'd buy the SR22T but both are very capable aircraft and I wouldn't say the Cirrus beats the Diamond in almost every category. Plus, it looks so much nicer!

December 11, 201510 yr Author Fit more bodies in a DA62 for one. I love the SR22 - fantastic aircraft. But the cirrus, is really only a three seater with full tanks/luggage. The DA is likely only a 5 or 6 seater with that. Agree though - different missions | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
December 11, 201510 yr I say we buy both.....I mean its only money and you only live once. While I am at it I would add a Carbon Cub to the hanger for my fun weekend flying ! Mark CYYZ
December 12, 201510 yr Author Sounds good...I'll fly out to YYZ and switch planes and I'll fly back to duluth. December 26, 201510 yr The TBO is too short to purchase (not that I have a spare $1.5M lying around). But, a lease option would make sense. A 1000 Hour TBO is likely a no go for many buyers. If only I had the cash. I would lease it, and fly it to the Caribbean every weekend!
