December 4, 201510 yr Commercial Member I would like to know why I would need the Fs2Crew for my Airbus when the Airbus crew does basically the same thing. Is there other things that Fs2Crew does that the stock Airbus crew doesn't? Paul Grubich 2017 - Professional texture artist painting virtual aircraft I love. December 4, 201510 yr I would like to know why I would need the Fs2Crew for my Airbus when the Airbus crew does basically the same thing. Is there other things that Fs2Crew does that the stock Airbus crew doesn't? It's sort of more "by the book" than the default. But, other than that, unless you want voice, it's just personal preference as the one that comes w/ the bus is pretty good too. December 4, 201510 yr Commercial Member The built-in FO is geared for casual / lite users who want some simple checklists and simple crew interaction. The FS2Crew FO uses actual Airbus SOPs and in general provides a much more realistic experience. Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
December 4, 201510 yr I'm pretty happy with the stock AS Airbus voice, it would be good if FS2crew could come up with a similar 'light' version for their product range. I still use FS2Crew for the 737 and Q400 for a bit more realism but sometimes find the 737 just gets too involved for the short hops I sometimes fly, again, a light version would be good.
December 4, 201510 yr Commercial Member Noted, but hard to justify the development costs for a 'Lite' version. The overwhelming majority of FS2Crew users are "enthusiast" users who want max realism. B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
December 4, 201510 yr I use FS2CREW on the bus mainly because of the voice interaction and the more realistic procedures. Another reason is that with FS2CREW your F/O is doing things when YOU want him to do things. In the stock version it is more generic. December 4, 201510 yr Commercial Member Indeed, "Voice Control" is a pretty major difference. B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
December 4, 201510 yr As noted by Klaus, the AS version is more automated than FS2Crew: For example, in the AS version you hear (your own/Captain's/PF's voice calling for) "gear up", but you can't actually trigger that call yourself - it's part of the AS code. In FS2Crew the timing is all yours. Also, FS2Crew provides voice and button control versions, while the AS code does not allow for voice interaction. (In FS2Crew, for example, you can instruct your F/O to set the autopilot/FCU for you - not exactly SOP, but a cool feature.) What happened to AVSIM
