Over 2 months on and ASN still in Beta!

Featured Replies

Hi everyone ...

Just an observation really ....

I'm a little surprised to see Active Sky Next still in Beta for version 3 of Prepar3D ... almost two months on since it's release ...

Dragging their heels or does it have an issue I wonder?

Paul

The Beta works perfectly, maybe they are into " If it ain't broke, don't fix it" mode.

Don't let the word BETA confuse you. It works just fine. It's the way HiFi releases updates. They could take the "beta" off the current version and one wouldn't know the difference.

Well that's it,  with P3D always in development and moving forward,  ASN will always be in Beta to insure best results moving forward.

As Vic said you wont know the difference

I can't remember it ever was out of beta with any version P3D. It's working perfectly fine here. What difference would it make if it was out of beta...? They would have to redo it for 3.1 anyway. I simply don't pay attention to whatever they call it.

They certainly are NOT dragging their heels because if there is one dev that releases updates etc. regularly, it's HiFi! They are an example for other devs that actually did 'forget' to put the word beta in their so called finished software.

Remember, that would be Service Pack 4 Open Beta.  It's pretty much in constant development. And that's a good thing.
