The Dreamfleet Baron 58 is a nice small twin and good value for the lite version, however i just thought the reality xp version might not be priced quite so much, i was maybe anticipating the same as the A36 considering they are so similar?

Jeff, here's the site for the 50 North 737:http://www.fiftynorth.com/intro.htmJim

Hi,the Reality XP gauges of the B58 are different than in the A36:- you get the RXP Sandel SN3308 in one, and the KI525 HSI with KA51 (finally a realistic gyro drift simulation!) in the other RXP B58 variation- the brand new "Light Line T" KI256 ADI is installed in both RXP B58 variations (super-smooth gauge action in 2D and VC)- GNS530 instead of a GNS430- dynamic ATC sound level control with the RXP Garmin GMS340

Thanks for the info Jim. Best regards, Jeff

>As to a discount for A36 owners, I think the value in the>Baron, especially if you buy the Lite version, is such that no>discount is necessary. It's my understanding that the Lite version does not have the "Flight Line T" gauges. Is this true? If so, you're forcing all of us who have purchased the individual RXP instruments to buy the Full version of the Baron anyway if we want the new instruments, so there is no discount no matter how you slice it.

I think it's appropriate to disclose that I was a Beta tester on this ship. Other than that, I have no association with DF.Having said that, this is a REALLY fine ship and will become the favorite of many twin drivers.Regards,Jim

You have the purchase choice. You can purchase the guages separately if you wish. With your selfish approach, you would be FORCING the RXP on those who don't want them. Obviously, the Lite version is for those who don't have, or want, large numbers of aftermarket gauges, and they're the ones who need the choice, not you.Want a 100% discount? Don't buy any of them.Allcott

>What's with the aggression? You have the purchase choice. You>can purchase the guages separately if you wish.Sadly, no. The Flight Line T gauges are not available for separate purchase and currently have no release date (the word "months" was used in a post in the Reality XP forum).I was under the impression that the Lite version was intended to give a price break to those who had already purchased the Reality XP gauges, but it looks like this was a misunderstanding on my part.

Hi there,We have made the Lite version, which we could just as well have called the Standard version, to give people the option to get the Baron in all it's splendour for a very nice price :) Ofcourse, it is a nice buy for those who already own RealityXP full versions, but let's not forget it is a very nice buy for those who do not have a want or need for upgraded avionics as well. If you look at the Standard version, you'll see that it offers a massive bang for your buck :)The RXP version upgrades the aircraft with RealityXP avionics and the Flightline T-gauges.However, the gauges (which the T-gauges in the RXP version replace) supplied with the Baron B58 Lite are very smooth operating in both 2D and 3D as well.I am very confident that all of you who bought or are buying the Baron B58 Lite version are not going to be dissappointed at all :) Best regards, Elmar

I see no aggression in Wing Fat's post but I do in your's Alcott. :)I actually fall into Wing Fat's camp ...I was going to buy the "Lite" version as I have the RXP GNS Pro. I do not need another twin but I love to fly anything that has Reality-XP GNS's in it! :-lolNot to say i will not buy it.. but this Flight Line T biznizz has left me in a quandry.

If I get the Baron, I'll get the Lite. I will get the T-Stack package when it comes out, because I know I'll be installing it everywhere it will fit in my fleet. I have lived without it so far -I can live without it until the package is released. There are too many goodies out there to enjoy in the meantime to need counseling or medication over this. So, if you have the whole set of RXP gauges, buy the Lite version, have fun putting them into the panel the way YOU want them in there, and have some patience waiting the new T-Stack. Or, spend the money for the RXP version and enjoy the T-Stack until they release the package. Command decision time, folks...

You bring a valid point! let's not forget that not every Baron customers are also customers of both the Reality XP SN3308 and the Reality XP GNS 530. Some have one, some have the other, and some have none.Furthermore, some are flying only a couple aircraft and do not wish to invest in standalone avionics for any aircraft: they just want the best there is, for their aircraft, and the Reality XP version of the Baron 58 offers just that in my opinion.Last but not least about gauge smoothness, because the Baron 58 either Lite or Reality XP version features a highly optimized 2D and VC code and model, either version will refresh the gauges very fast and offer a very pleasant experience in the VC. However, only the Flight Line T gives the precision, the accuracy and the smoothness you would expect from this new technology: TrueGauge XP.How to better explain the difference: take any bitmap based EFIS screen (like they are designed in some famous bizjets around here), and compare it with Reality XP's Jet Line 4. You will imediately see how bitmap based gauges are limited in accuracy and precision as compared to "vector gauges". (for a complete description of the FS SDK limitations in regard to this, there is a good description here: http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/rxp_flt.htm ).Simply put: the FS SDK only rotates bitmaps (your ADI rotates to indicate bank for example) at a precision of 1 degree, and the FS SDK only moves your ADI pitch indicator by 1 pixel. That means that the smaller the gauge on the screen, the less precision you have in pitch indication.TrueGauge XP goes far beyond this limitation and brings the ultra smooth and precise gauge simulation as found with TrueDisplay XP (Jet Line and SN3308) to analogue gauges. There is more to it like a correct simulation of gyro drift with the KI525 and the KA51 with a working free/slave gyro alignment system. In the end, the Baron 58 is great value to ANYONE. Lite or Reality XP version, already customer or not of Reality XP, you can choose the best version fitting your needs and your existing investment in Reality XP product!Hope this helps!

They could at least provided the Lite buyers with the RXP panel.cfg as an option for us who got our own RXP gauges. I purchased the Lite version and assumed the panel.cfg would be included, or easy to alter but it's not.

Hello Jean-Luc, you say how precise bitmap based gauges are " FS SDK only rotates bitmaps (your ADI rotates to indicate bank for example) at a precision of 1 degree, and the FS SDK only moves your ADI pitch indicator by 1 pixel. That means that the smaller the gauge on the screen, the less precision you have in pitch indication"Could you say how precise your vectors gauges are? ....and are XML vector gauges more precise also?I would also like to see a RXP panel cfg option when I buy the "Lite" vers ;)
