Denver International Airport closed until further notice; some 800 flights canceled

It's been totally insane at DIA all day. Earlier they had a Medic Unit stuck in the snow and massive snow drifts.

Looks like the traditional Great Plains blizzard - when I was in elementary school a Nebraska state trooper had to bring me home from school (2 miles) because it was too dangerous to walk home.

Been a busy day in the Mile High City... lots of snow, Interstates closed, schools & businesses closed.

Perfect day to Flight Sim in calm weather!

This blizzard (in the truest sense of the word with very heavy snow and very high winds) was short, but intense.  Thing weren't too bad getting into work this morning 50 miles N of Denver, but by mid-morning you couldn't see 10 feet due to the heavy snow and 40 MPH winds.  Oh, and the very weird lightning that accompanied the storm was knocking out power all over the region.  By 5 PM, winds were down to reasonable levels and the snow had stopped.

Ah, spring in the inter-mountain west.  Scottb613, it was 70 here yesterday as well!
