So if using FSGRW (an external weather injector) it should be set to "Always"??  I thought it needed to be in "Automatic"...I am a little confused.

It should be in automatic with FSGRW - that is the one exception.

  • Elaine, here's the complete change log:   Here's what's changed in version 3.2:   What's New / Changed: Cloud detail level is now set automatically based on the cloud draw area in SMP's settings,

  • Still, SMP looks unrealistic to me. Sorry if someone is personally involved. I wish this one will become available in 64bit some day: http://forum.simrussia.com/index.php?/topic/1009-xenviro/&page

Not sure how FSGRW works but if you set it to always it will always download real world weather and be active no matter what.

Thanks, but what is the effect if I use FSGRW and set it to Always???  The reason I ask is, when I set it to "Automatic", it disconnects FSGRW at random intervals and it is really annoying...then you have to reconnect FSGRW in the Weather page of XP and of course you get a massive weather shift.

If I set RWC to "Always", curiously, this disconnection does not occur, FSGRW stays connected.

If you set RWC to "Always", it will ignore what FSGRW is telling it about the clouds and instead use METAR data downloaded directly from NOAA.

As for why you're getting disconnects from FSGRW - that I don't know. RWC only interacts with FSGRW through the METAR.rwx files it writes. Make sure you're using the latest versions of FSGRW and SMP as a starting point (SMP is at 3.2)
