July 2, 20169 yr Hi, I installed Roland's radar in the GNS panel config file according to the instructions at Flysimware: [Window Titles] Window00 = CONTROL_PANEL Window01 = AIRCRAFT_OPTIONS Window02 = GPS_PANEL Window03 = RolASNRadar WX Radar Window04 = START_INSTRUCTIONS Window05 = DOOR_INSTRUCTIONS Window06 = PAYLOAD_MANAGER Window07 = New GPS Window08 = Airport Chart [Window03] size_mm=100,150 position=2 visible=1 Window_pos=0.05,0.65 zorder=4 background_color=16,16,16 alpha_blend=0.80 gauge00=RolasnRadar!oRadGauge, 0,0,100,150, sweep|beam|icing [Vcockpit43] size_mm=512,512 pixel_size=512,512 texture=$MV_WXM background_color=0,0,0 gauge00=RolasnRadar!ConeRadGauge,85,40,335,265, sweep|beam|icing gauge01=CONTROL_PANEL!clipboard RADAR, 90,50,330,250 I copied the dll file to the Gauges folder and installed the VC2013 C++ x86 libraries. However, the radar unit is blank and I can't get it to start. Any advice as to what I might have done wrong would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Gerry
July 3, 20169 yr The instructions are not correct. I posted a working setup for the older panel with the RXP gauge in the pinned thread. You must not use a VC gauge AND a 2D gauge. You may use either, but not both. Regards. Matthias Hanel MilViz Beta Team
July 4, 20169 yr Author Hi Matthias, Thanks for your suggestion, but it did not work. I eliminated Window 3 completely and inserted your Vcockpit entry as such: [Vcockpit43] size_mm=512,512 pixel_size=512,512 texture=$RDR150 background_color=0,0,0 gauge00=RolasnRadar!ORadGauge,85,40,335,265, sweep|beam|icing //gauge01=CONTROL_PANEL!clipboard RADAR, 90,50,330,250 Your Vcockpit number is different than mine and I don't understand why that would be. You also mention the RXP gauge but I am using the GNS that came with the plane, not an RXP gauge. Regards, Gerry
July 4, 20169 yr Until version 2.4 of the Lear it came with either the Flight1 GTN or the Flysimware GNS. THE WEATHER RADAR however was a 3D model based upon the RXP WX500 unit. Since 2.5 it changed to the MilViz Radar unit. So up to 2.4 of the Lear you can use what I provided, if you use 2.5 and on, this would have to be newly implemented and tested for the new MilViz VC gauge. Since I own the MilViz radar, I don't have to use Rolands gauge no more, so I won't have to integrate it there. Maybe somebody else can provide a working setup for this case. In case you want to show the radar inside the GNS unit (which wouldn't make sense, because a usable weather radar gauge is also provided and you would restrict your navigational capabilities), you would have to test on your own. In my setup you would have a working GNS, plus the working radar. Regards. Matthias Hanel MilViz Beta Team
July 4, 20169 yr Author In my cockpit, I have the GNS unit and a weather unit to it's right. I use ASN. Does Roland's gauge allow me to use the existing cockpit weather unit on the right without RXP or Milviz? Regards, Gerry
July 4, 20169 yr It does. It will use hidden clickspots on the radar screen itself. With the RXP unit in the VC and the setup I provided for use with Roland's gauge, this will be the case. It should also work for the MilViz radar, but the coordinates and the size for the gauge will be different, so one would have to change those to display Roland's gauge correctly within the MilViz screen. Regards. Matthias Hanel MilViz Beta Team
July 4, 20169 yr As I already stated.. depending what version of the Lear you are using: Up to 2.4 (RXP Wx radar) you can use the mod I provided. If you have the latest update to 2.5 and thus the MilViz radar in the VC, someone else may provide input. Regards. Matthias Hanel MilViz Beta Team
