Which reminds me: I should install that plane: seems a great plane to explore LOWI with. Pity AFS2 doesn't have a trike yet.

It's a very very "visual" plane that gives an excellent view of the area around you. Hands down the best sightseeing aircraft currently in Aerofly.

Nah....

There's no Moon with right phases during that spin :-)

But indeed it looks close to reality :-)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVGtsK7vvnA

although my RL experience during such a spin, in a DR-400, after a glider tug mission up to 1200m ( for aerobatics training in a Fox ), brings memories a slower "spin rate"... It's a dual dihedral wood wing after all, but indeed the true spin video I posted above shows that AEFS2 spin's just like the real thing !

Honestly, very honestly, my biggest problem with AEFS2 is the space it consumes in my SSD 250 GB disk... Then, there isn't still much t do with it. Even if I assume that I am a CTRL-E simmer, I like to have interaction and realistic response from some systems, starting with engine modelling... Also, weather is rather limited as it is right now, although I prefer AEFS2's turbulence and wind variability modelling to that of FSX and XP10/11...

Then, there's that absence of seasonal textures, night lighting...

But it's indeed a great flight simulator for an open Beta state.

I remember all the time I spent over Aerosoft's beautiful New York in FSX a few years ago, endlessly tweaking the CFG and settings to reach a near magical 25fps.......

It's impossible to do better than this, I thought.........

But now......

Impressive, thanks.

How come when you turn your head right the camera looks left and visa versa?

gb.

Edit: I see you are filmed in reverse, left/right.

Never mind texting when you drive...  :)

Be interesting to see this develop. It could become a Flight Simulator, or a Computer Game.

In my opinion,

P3D and FSX, as well as FSW ( even if I like this one... ) are more of the ( old ) same...

LR  with their XP11 platform think they do not have to do what others want, but rather what they think is right, and they continue in that line of thought - you're in or you're out... problem is yours... XP11 is the Best!

IPACS is trying to progressively reach user community wants and expectations, at a ( slow I know, but realistic for their size and relatively recent entry into this simulation niche... ) pace that gives them time to make sound code, clear code, and tools for 3pds to make AEFS2 evolve in the right way. Some 3pds are already looking at it, ORBX has already supported it, so... honestly, for me AEFS2 is the way to go.... only alternatives being, for the physics modelling, DCS and IL-2, but that's another story...

I think that is only a skewed impression of you.

In the last years, the users asked for more drawing distance, and LR did it; they asked for a better GPS, and LR did it; they asked for 3d airports and LR did it and is doing it; they asked for better and regionalized autogen, and LR did it and is doing it; they asked for a more user friendly GUI, and LR did it; they asked for better performance (and VR implementation), and LR is doing it; they asked for landmarks and LR is doing it, etc... And I think they're committed to 3rd parties as much as the other competitors.

True, some things like seasons and weather have been left behind (and they're just in the roadmap for now), but maybe limited resources have had to be prioritized. After all even Aerofly is in the same position for those two features.

Now back to the topic of the forum... Very nice video. AEFS2 will certainly be a major player.
