I tried this great little freeware navmap program available in the Library.

It is terrific and is feature rich including the one thing I always wanted was an airfield map with parking positions as read from the scenery database (like an EFB).

Highly recommended!

Very hard to find Shez without a link or at least authors name. Avsim lib comes up negative in all categories using "Navmap"

Sorry you are right. It was on the AVSIM front page 25 Sep entry. You also need to download little navconnect for the FSUIPC connection. Search Google for it.

Sheza: Thanks for the pointer. I missed it on the Front Page.

I have downloaded and installed but it seems to hang of loading the scenery database, specifically on a MyTraffic BGL.

Any ideas? The error is: https://app.box.com/s/vppjdcnsl8rtluxywsrc7y9lg3eqq71u

Details are included in above image.

It starts to load but gets the error on one particular airport.

This is a very feature rich applications and I am looking forward to using it.

Does the MyTraffic BGL file have AFCAD airports in it? If not then I would move the file while the scenery library is being built.

The MyT 6 version of CYUL has an additional unnamed VOR (YUL1) like many 3rd party versions of this airport have, in order to change the route to RWY 10. The option to allow unnamed Navaids will be added to the next version of Little Navmap, according to the developer.

Thank you gentlemen.....

I am still using 5.4b so I guess that is still an issue, even with 6.0.

I understand it is Beta so I will keep monitoring and go with the flow............

Thanks again

Hi All,

thanks for the kind words.

I'm the author of the Little Navmap.

For those having problems with My Traffic: I'm about to create a new beta release soon that fixes these problems with the unnamed VORs.

I'll announce it here once it is released.

Initially I planned to upload the beta to the Avsim library, but decided to ask the library manager to pull it. There were too many problems loading the scenery and I didn't want to bother the library managers with updates every two days.

Hi Alex!

Thank you so much for your fantastic little tool!

This will help me taxi to my runway!

And in my HTC Vive it is very friendly on frame rates!

Alex,

GREAT tool and I look forward to using it on a regular basis.

I also had problems with a file from UTX and a custom developed BGL for Rarotonga (Cook Islands).

If I can assist by sending you more detail please let me know.

Regards,

 Bob Werab

Hi Bob,

I tried the ncrg_rarotonga-4x.zip from Lawrie Roache here (if that is the one you're using) and that works well. Seems to be fixed already.

Hi All,

I just released 1.0.3.beta.

See here: https://albar965.github.io/littlenavmap.html.

* Includes fixes for unnamed VORs and NDBs (as they appear in My Traffic BGL files) in scenery loading.
* Fixed flight plan generation and start position selection for add-on airports having no runways and/or no start positions.
* Added search option for runway-less airports (many add-on heliports have neither runways nor helipads).
* Fixed error in scenery exclusion options.
* Added support for Active Sky AS16.
* Additions/clarifications in manual.

The program will ask you to erase the scenery database upon startup since it has changed.
When you agree you can reload the scenery again afterwards.

Kind regards

Alex

Sorry, not yet. It shows only the user aircraft . I'll add that to my task list.

Alex,

Thanks very much!  Seeing other a/c you are flying with on a server is very useful.

I second the recommendation - I see that you have this on your 'to do' list and will be happy to see it added to the features.

Hi, interesting utility.

I have this error message (see picture below) when I first create the database from my scenery addons. This error stops the process of creating the database for Little Navmap and I could not make any progress thereafter. Could you please indicate what to do?:

Hi Ed,

I assume you are using version 1.0.3.beta?

Can you send me the "rctbbase_0.bgl" file to my e-mail address (can be found on by Github profile https://github.com/albar965)?

Until the problem is fixed you can disable the scenery in Little Navmap's Options dialog in the tab "Scenery Library Database". Add the path to the scenery to the upper list box.

Looks like I have to implement this issue here

https://github.com/albar965/littlenavmap/issues/1 - Skip all BGL files that cause an exception and report errors at the end of the loading process

for the next beta.

Hi Alex,

Myself and another fellow used Little NavMap for a few hours today -- quite an impressive program!

A couple of 'nice to haves'  that occurred to us I'll pass on for your future consideration:

 - It would be nice if the users aircraft could be smaller -- maybe about 3/4 or half the present size ( or maybe user adjustable -- big, medium, small)

-  Would be convenient if the user had some control over the aircraft trail -- type of line (solid or dotted, thickness, and color).

Thanks again for a great tool!

Al

Hi Alex:

Effectively, I'm using the latest beta, downloaded today. I've sent the requested file to your mail address.

Thanks.

Hi Al,

I added this ticket to my list: Add more map customization options

Hi Ed,

thank you very much for the file. I can reproduce the error here which is good. I'm also about to change the loading process, so that it continues and shows all collected errors/files when done.

Hi Alex, I think this idea is excellent. I tried Littlenavmap on my second machine, which have some different scenery addons installed also in P3Dv3.4, and the same error originally posted occurred with five different scenery.

Cheers, Ed

Alex, I tried Little NavMap after having some freezes with Plan-G and it looks like a very promising alternative. No errors so far. Keep up the good work.
